Features

Assembly

Instructions are pretty straight forward. You need 2 people for the job and you must follow the instructions to the letter. Pay attention to how you level the treadmill after you finish assembly, so that the belt doesn’t slip to the left or right.

Lubrication

This treadmill requires lubrication every 3 months, even if you don’t use it.

The highlight of the TR1200 DT5 console is not necessarily the diversity of readouts- distance traveled, calories burned, time you’ve been working out and steps you’ve taken, it’s not even in the buttons which are all basic stuff yet it’s all you need to power up this unit to the maximum, instead it’s in the space it takes up which is minimal, functional and easy to access.

Let’s not forget guys at Lifespan are pretty determined to deliver only top quality and saving up the space for the ultimate treadmill workout while doing all or part of your daily work is nothing if not determination to best user-experience.

Some other key features turn the DT5 into a must-look-at if not a must-have treadmill:

Intelli-Guard- this feature acts like your intelligent guardian, which means you can step off the treadmill belt at any time during workout. The belt will instantly stop which will keep risk of injury to the minimum.

Intelli-Step- this is a great feature which we are really into. Sometimes we simply enjoy a nice walk at a normal pace, but we also want to have an accurate recordable feedback on our casual performance, so having a system that counts your steps according to your weight, walking style and pace and also usage characteristics adds up to this already valuable machine.

Desktop height adjustments- a feature that is as important as the heavy duty workspace. Why spend your money on being able to install an office on your treadmill if you can’t adjust it to your own characteristics? Users from 4’10″ to 6’8″ can easily make the most out of DT5, heighten as much as you please and the desktop table will remain motionless. And here’s the kicker: the desktop frame is unattached to the treadmill, basically you don’t have to worry about your computer, your printer, your drink because they will not be affected by the movement of treadmill.

Bluetooth- You can’t work in an office that doesn’t have Bluetooth, don’t you think?

Audible Safety Alert- this is an audible alert that notifies the user when changes are being made such as the start of the treadmill or speed adjustments.

Conclusions

This is not just a whisper in the wind, we’ve put this unit to the test and turns out, it was another victory for Lifespan. As many of you readers probably do, we work from home, so having the opportunity to take all of our calls, type all of our emails and negotiate all of our contracts while walking is like a dream come true.

With so many tasks to perform, it’s not outrageous to wonder: can this treadmill actually deliver so much satisfaction? The truth is it can. The desktop surface is unmovable, so the greatest challenge of this treadmill should be least of your worries. It’s a heavy duty surface also, therefore anything you need on your desk, including your favorite whole bean coffee, you can have it and never worry about stability.

It’s a great thing that users from 4’10″ to 6’8″ can effortlessly benefit from all the features this treadmill has to offer, and you don’t really have to be aware of everything at any time. What I mean by this is that one may get so into whatever newsletter you’re writing or the most important phone call of the week that you may forget you are in fact on a movable surface, so accidents may happen, injuries may occur, but not on DT5 due to an Audible system that alerts you every time the belt stops or speed is adjusted.

The sole dissatisfaction we’ve felt so far is the unreliable Bluetooth, a functionality we first decided to ignore but then we changed our minds and purchased a Bluetooth adapter in order to connect the computer to the treadmill. Not only the entire registering on Lifespan Fitness Club is long and requiring unjustifiable information such as date of birth and address, but if you do not purchase a membership after a 4 month trial, the Bluetooth becomes worthless.

Now I know you wish to make the most out of your purchase, we also wanted that, but the truth is the Bluetooth and also desktop app do not really add any benefit to your DT5 experience. Let’s bear in mind though that the Lifespan Fitness Club is still under construction which makes way for improvement.

Working out on DT5 has been a revealing experience: you can actually get all work done with a positive forward-thinking attitude, because it’s not just about working out your body, it’s also about working out your brain, and truthfully, combining the two has brought us the best contracts ever, and all for $1,500 which may seem much but it’s lot less than the initial $2000 price tag.
