This is a copy of the weekly newsletter from the New Zealand Running Calendar sent by email on August 12th 2013 covering interesting articles, the winners of our recently finished competitions, recently updated event pages and events coming up over the next two weeks.

After a very dry winter so far, the wet weather seems to have arrived. I went for a Friday afternoon run along Auckland's waterfront when the weather was still stunning. The drizzle had started to settle in by the time I volunteered at parkrun at Cornwall Park the following morning, and the rest of the weekend (and this morning so far) have been a bit yuck... I know it can make it a bit hard to get out there for a training run, but puddle jumping can be fun too!
