OGDEN, Utah – On Oct. 1 runners are invited to secure their spots at the starting line for the 2014 Zions Bank Ogden Marathon, produced by the GOAL Foundation. Entry into the Full Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, 5K and Kids’ K held on May 17, 2014 will become available that day.

A lottery system is used for the Full and Half Marathon. Lottery registration is open Oct. 1-10. Participation is limited to 8,000 slots -3,500 Full Marathon and 4,500 Half Marathon. Race selections will be make once the lottery closes. Entrants will be notified on Oct. 15.

No lottery selection is required to purchase in the following divisions: VIP Full, VIP Half, Relay, 5K and Kids K. Registration will be available Oct. 1 until the races sell out.

The cost for the Full Marathon is $90 and the Half Marathon is $80. There is no fee to enter the lottery. Runners will be charged once selected. Additional pricing information for all races can be found on the GOAL Foundation website at www.ogdenmarathon.com.

Those with guaranteed entries should register by Sept. 30 to claim their spot. Guaranteed entries are granted to those who have completed eight or more verified Ogden Full Marathon (26.2 distance) races. Guaranteed entries are invited to register between Sept. 1- 30. If the registration window is missed, they will be required to enter the lottery process.

“The Ogden Marathon has grown into a nationally-recognized race embraced by elite and recreational runners,” said Jenny Scothern, executive director of the GOAL Foundation. “We are excited for this year’s Ogden Marathon and the many opportunity it brings to ‘Get Out and Live.’ ”

Zions Bank Ogden Marathon hotel partners will offer special discounts to marathon participants. Offers include one or two night stays with special amenities such as carb-loading dinners and/or hot breakfast. Lodging partners are within close proximity to the race shuttle and finish line. The 26.2 race begins in Huntsville, Utah. The course works its way through Eden and around Pineview Reservoir. Runners will finish on Historic 25th Street in downtown Ogden by way of picturesque Ogden Canyon. The Half Marathon begins at Pineview Reservoir and will also finish in downtown Ogden. The Kimberly-Clark 5K is the final 3.1 miles of the marathon and begins at the Ogden River Parkway. The Kid’s K is a one-mile family fun run in the downtown Ogden area. A Fun and Fitness Expo will take place on Friday, May 16, 2014.

Runners from all 50 states and 13 countries have participated in the Ogden Marathon since the inaugural run in 2000. The Ogden Marathon is USATF certified and is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.
