Superb fields for Birmingham
BIRMINGHAM (GBR): A total of five Rio Olympic champions will be among 25 current global medallists competing at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham on Saturday (final of IAAF World Indoor Tour), informs organisers. The programme is rounded off with the 5000m featuring Mo Farah in perhaps the last indoor race of his career while other Olympic champions in action include Elaine Thompson (60m), Dalilah Muhammad (400m), Ekaterini Stefanidi (pole vault) and Jeff Henderson (60m and long jump). In-form Laura Muir will be chasing Kelly Holmes' British 1000m record of 2:32.96 while world-leader Andy Pozzi faces world 110m hurdles record-holder Aries Merritt in the 60m hurdles.

RunBlogRun Opines: The final stop of the IAAF World Indoor Tour, the Muller Indoor GP is one of my favorite meetings around the world. The City of Birmingham is this wonderfully diverse city in Great Britian, with art, music, sports and history all in one place. The Muller Indoor Grand Prix is sold out nearly each and every year, and it features the best of the world of athletics plus great support for the finest and the newest in British athletics.
