Early September is a difficult month, sartorially speaking. It’s not quite cool enough for sweaters, but those bright colored dresses and shorts from your summer wardrobe don’t make sense either. We love Audrey Rogers from Be Frassy‘s light earthy look – it brings fall colors into summer-style layers. And the honeyed browns and crisp white look great with a suntan – while you still go it! But, we think that these textures translate well into interior design – see gorgeous bedroom from the Netherlands featured in vtwonen. So how exactly do the two connect? Here are three key ways:

1. A crisp white classic. Whether it’s a white t-shirt or percale bedding, never underestimate the versatility and beauty of white cotton. They pair especially well with browns, creating a nice contrast.

2. Honeyed browns. From dusty pink to Moroccan leather, mixing different warm brown tones (in various materials such as leather, wood, suede, and cotton) creates a subtle look with interest.

3. A standout piece. We all have a scarf we inherited from our mother or a blanket found in a boutique on a weekend get-away. These pieces are the perfect touch to a very neutral canvas and bring out the personality necessary to making it a successful outfit or room. Try to find one color in that standout piece that is repeated in the rest of the look.

If you love this bedroom as much as we do, we’ve got a few items that will help you recreate the look in your home! Click on the slideshow to check them out!
