Lets talk about video games! As you all certainly know in addition to cultivating this C+ player of a daily feature, I write about video games in my spare time - though oddly, otters, the QOTD hasn't really featured them all that much.

Thus:

Whatcyha been playing, interactive media wise, lately?

What's your favorite game of all time?

Least favorite that everyone else seems to love?

What game have you played the most, for the longest period of time? (it's WoW isn't it! You know its WoW!

For starters: 23 vintage games you can play in your browser

Paul Meekin's Big Ole List of Free Games and Shit:

Tony Stark: The post white house years.

Golfstar  - iOS - Just a fantastic online golf game that's free, complex, and pretty to look at if you have a newer iPad. It's also punishingly unforgiving, and delightfully Japanese.

Customization options are not great, but the golf is absolutely solid and provides just enough help to ensure putting isn't a complete disaster, but also not a joke, either.

Now Starring: Dolph Ziggler's Push

Dead Ahead - iOS -   Imagine if you combined the animation of Invader Zim, The gameplay of the NES Classic Excite Bike, a bit of homage to Akira and Terminator 2: Judgement Day, plus some classic side-scrolling beat em’ up tropes, and you have the core of Dead Ahead.

The addicting difficulty and a certain simplicity of design that did a few things excellently, instead of many different things decently, which games tend to do now

I'd love to start a 'league' for this game, anyone interested?

Card Hunter - Web - On paper Card Hunter plays like a combination of “Magic The Gathering” and “Final Fantasy: Tactics”, but is a little more complex than that.

Toss in a wonderful 'paper' aesthetic, and rarely does a game manage to evoke nostalgia and feel completely fresh at the same time, and this is one of those instances.

Orgasm Girl (Virtual Pet / Simulation) Mating Japanese erotica and virtual pet style game play was a bit risky. but what emerged from these strange bedfellows is the Hentai masterpiece, Orgasm Girl. If you were of a certain age when this hit newgrounds.com, then you've played it with one hand.

N - (Action / Platformer) I think everyone with a computer has played this game, and if you haven't, play it now. it's a fun, addicting little platformer. The premise is you're a Ninja, you have to collect coins, open gates, and make it to the door. I know it doesn't make any sense, but the game is tense. The game reminds me of Comix Zone in that there's patterns to memorize and exploit, incredibly tough enemies, and you're always a couple of seconds away from dying.

Curve Ball - (3D Pong) - Giving a third dimension to Pong, Curve Ball plays out like those light disc battles in the Tron movies. By the sixth level you're frantic. You could probably spend a good 40 minutes with this game and not get bored. The difficulty increases, there's a score counter, it's polished, and the sound effects create a symphony of chaos in the latter levels.

8-ball Pool - Mobile -  This is FREAKING AWESOME, it's a massively mutliplayer pool game with tournaments, coins, bragging rights, and Facebook integration. It's a blast.

You win coins which allow you to win more coins, buy different pool cues, or add a special ability or too. Odds are ONE OF US is already playing it because it's so dang popular. Check it out!

Galaxy On Fire 2 HD - Mobile- “Galaxy on Fire” embraces a pulpy, Flash-gordon-meets-Han-Solo vibe, where nothing is taken particularly seriously, and the dialog is there mostly to move you along to the next mission. You can spend hours taking on escort missions, flying cargo from one planet to another, clear out asteroids, and escort ships or trade goods.

Thus far there's no tight quarters to fly through, no boss-battles…per say, but this could be because I saved up all my credits for an expensive laser weapon that made every battle I took part in the intergalactic version of duck hunt.

Occasionally a mission will require you to disable an enemy ship with an EMP blast, or fight through hordes on your way to a wormhole, disable the guns on a capital ship, and there are momentary distractions like asteroid mining, but alas, so far anyway, nothing has felt climatically different to separate “big” missions from smaller ones.

Galaxy On Fire 2 is completely free, which is astounding. Not only does it feel like a premium product, it feels like a premium console product. It’s graphically beautiful, there’s tons of (somewhat samey) content to explore, and the audio is top-notch as well. So, while Galaxy On Fire's flame may dim after a few hours of game play, it’s still an exceptional product, and one you’ll always find yourself jumping back into, eager to stoke the flames.

Meat Boy (Platformer) - This is Mario honed to a point. It's more vertical and features a hefty dose of wall jumping, but Meat Boy, like Mario, is capable of being mastered. The reward is a sense of accomplishment, which is why games exist in the first place.

- Find this one on your own folks, not googling this one.
