The RSPCA is appealing for information about an injured dog which was found in Chester on Christmas Eve.
The Staffordshire Bull Terrier, thought to be aged around four, was found by a member of the public hobbling down Treborth Road, in Blacon with a swollen leg.
She is now being cared for at the RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital, where she has been named Holly.
RSPCA Inspector Naomi Norris said: “When Holly was found, she was unable to put any weight on her rear leg, which was severely swollen and bruised. She has now been examined by Greater Manchester Animal Hospital and her leg has been confirmed as broken in three places. She also has superficial head injuries.
“She is a beautiful brindle Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was possibly hit by a car on Christmas Eve and left in the road.
“It is so sad to think what Holly has been through and we are very grateful to the member of the public who found her for contacting us in the first instance.
