Calling all potentially purrrfect cat owners!

Attention all potentially purrrfect cat owners - help is urgently needed in Wales as kitten season reaches near-catastrophic proportions.
Newport Animal Centre is currently chockablock as they care for 41 cats and kittens, all in desperate need of a permanent caring and responsible new home.
And staff at Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre in Upper Colwyn Bay are currently caring for around 45 cats and kittens, and what's more - shockingly, at present none of these purrfect pets have been reserved by potential owners.
Newport Animal Centre's manager Elaine Buchan, said:
It's heart-breakingly slow with the rehoming of cats at the moment with people looking but no one booking them. All the pods are full, as are our fosterers and private boarding and virtually all our staff have kittens at home.
We're therefore asking potential owners to please paws for thought and consider whether they could be a caring and responsible owner and adopt our fabulous felines.

Meet just a few of the marvellous moggies currently looking for new homes in Wales.
Newport Animal Centre
Elly and Pippa
Elly (black and white) and Pippa (tri-coloured) are very sweet two-year-old domestic shorthaired females who have lots of love to give and would love a lap to sleep on.
Both can be a little timid but once settled in their new home will flourish. Pippa and Elly would prefer a home without other cats or dogs but could live with older children.
Lana
This four-year-old domestic shorthaired tortoiseshell loves plenty of fuss and cuddles.
Lana would be a wonderful cat for a first time owner and could also live with children of a primary school age and also another cat but not dogs.

Tiger
Tiger is a cute as a button eight-week-old tabby kitten, who was found straying with an untreated ear infection - now better, a home is needed!
Simon
Simon the gorgeous Siamese is a special boy who has had his leg removed due to an untreated injury and we would love his new owners to be the thoughtful ones he deserves.

Feline the pinch!
Bryn-y-Maen Animal Centre's deputy manager Victoria Williams, said:
Our cats are desperate for a home and so if there are potential owners out there who would consider a cat as a pet we'd be grateful to hear from you.
The RSPCA seems to be coping with a huge amount of unwanted or stray cats at the moment and this does impact on us greatly.
Key advice would be to please, please think about getting a rescue cat rather than buying one and to ensure that neutering is a priority for the sake of all those unwanted or stray kittens out there.
Caring for cats
Looking after a cat is hugely rewarding and as long as they have a good diet, proper care and an interesting and comfy environment to engage with, a cat will quite happily play, snooze or while away the hours until their owner arrives back from work.
