The Swedish Royal Court has released four new photographs from Prince Alexander’s christening, which took place on Friday, 9 September.

The photos were taken at Drottningholm Palace after the ceremony by Mattias Edwall.

The first image shows the little prince with his parents, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia. The second photo has the Prince Family, alongside his maternal grandparents, Erik and Marie Hellqvist and paternal grandparents, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia. Another image is of Prince Alexander, his parents, and his five godparents.

His godparents were announced on 8 September as his paternal aunt, Crown Princess Victoria; maternal aunt, Lina Frejd; cousin, Victor Magnuson; his father’s friend and best man, Jan-Åke Hansson; and his mother’s friend, Cajsa Larsson.

Another photo features Alexander with his parents and aunts. Princess Sofia’s sisters are on the left, while Princess Madeleine and Crown Princess Victoria are on the right.

Alexander is the only child of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia, who wed on 13 June 2015. Sofia’s pregnancy was announced in October 2015. Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil was born at Danderyd Hospital in Danderyd, Sweden, on 19 April 2016.
