The M-PACT Plus programme supports children, parents and families affected by parental d-r-u-g and alcohol misuse. The initiative was launched in April 2013 when Kate and comedian John Bishop visited Willows Primary School in Wythenshawe, Manchester.Place2Be supports 75,000 children in more than 200 schools in some of the most deprived areas of the UK.

It helps children to deal with issues such as bullying, bereavement and family breakdown.

Discussing alcohol and d-r-u-g misuse when launching the project last April, Kate said: “I have been struck by the profound and deeply damaging impact it has on the children of affected parents.

“Research has shown that children of those who are addicted are seven times more likely to have addiction problems themselves.

“They are also brought up surrounded by fear, instability and chaos.”

The visit came after Prince Harry compared his nephew’s looks to that of a young Winston Churchill [PA]

Yesterday Prince Harry said his 11-month-old nephew looked like a young Winston Churchill. The 29-year-old drew the comparison when he talked to guests at a party in the Chilean capital Santiago to celebrate the Queen’s official birthday.Harry made the cute comment when chatting with Virginia Araya, a presenter on national radio station Infinita on Friday night.

Mr Araya said: “I asked him what George was like.

“He said: ‘He’s growing up, he is walking and he has big, chubby cheeks. He looks like a young Winston Churchill.”
