Take a journey to the creative, unique, stylish Bath, located 97 miles West of London. Bath is the only place in the UK where you can bathe in naturally hot spa water, making it the ultimate spa break destination for thousands of years! From February 5th until the 12th of December, you can now explore more than ever about this historical city. Have fun discovering Bath with two self – guided, heritage walks with an optional treasure hunt! Match the answers to the clue while reading about this fabulous city. With all year round festivals and events, there is plenty to see and do. Bath is a hot spot for contemporary, historical fashion. The famous Fashion Museum has been the must visit place for any budding fashionista. With an unbelievable catalogue of historical costume, this museum is packed full of exciting attire. Opening on the 27th of May there will be a brand new exhibition, perfectly named ‘Special Silhouettes’! Explore the Georgians exhibition and create special silhouettes using card – this is a perfect opportunity to perfect on those drawing skills, look closely at the detail of clothing of yesteryear.

Keeping with the historical theme, New World is a brand new exhibition showing at the American Museum located in Claverton Manor. New World will be displaying the celebrated historical map collection formed by Dallas Pratt, Co-founder of the American Museum! These maps illustrate the changing shape of the Americas as Renaissance cartographers learned more of the New World. The ‘New World’ was constantly changing shape from the 15th to the 17th centuries as European cartographer’s learned more from navigators, who ventured across the Atlantic ocean in search of pearls, gold and spices!

Just an hour outside of Bath heading towards the coastline is the famous beaches of Weston-Super-Mare. A great seaside resort with all the traditional seaside attractions, including donkey rides and the superb promenade. The wise sweep of Weston Bay has miles of clean, sandy beaches, with fantastic views over the channel, especially if you decide to take the 40 metre high Wheel of Weston! Over the last 3 years, the seafront and promenade has been transformed by a major refurbishment, the new Grand Pier which is now open all year round with state of the art rides, a great selection of food and drink.
