February, the month of unpredictable winter weather here in the Lone Star State. The month that really confirms that Texas suffers from ‘Bipolar Weather Disorder'; we can go from pretty spring days to days of icy coating or several inches of snow overnight in East Texas …

… thus a bright springy desktop calendar to get us through to March, when spring will be on the near horizon! The quote came from a Google search for “nature quotes” — considering how often I use the phrase to describe national parks and other nature related things/sights, I thought it was a perfect fit.

My Monday ’round up’ of life updates or random things, posts from the last week/month, and stuff around the web I feel is worthy of sharing is back after a six week break. Rather than calling it “Monday Monday!!”, I’m trying to come up with a better (aka less generic) title. Anyone have a suggestion by chance?

So what’s on the agenda for the week ahead?

1) Go through my external drives I keep stored elsewhere for past travel images for upcoming posts.

#photographerproblems. I have several drives that I store away from my workstation since they’re full/older. I need to pull a couple of them this week and start searching for images for destination and microadventure guides.

2) Finish up my bookkeeping for 2014.

Yes, I’m slacking on this. There’s some transactions I need to search my email and update the spreadsheet for my bookkeeper to do my taxes later this month.

3) Catch up on emails. Then purge the inbox of all the crap I haven’t deleted already.

I’m horrible at responding (in a timely manner) to emails that require more than a few word response. Goal is to make sure that I’ve responded to everything this week that needs a response. As for the deleting of the emails in the inbox, well I clear out anything that’s a temptation, move emails that need a response to a ‘reply to asap’ folder, and anything I don’t have time to read but think I’ll read later and most likely haven’t … well I need to clear those out or file ‘em in another folder if I may need to reference them at a future date.

Last month’s posts worth a second read (or a first read if you’re new here) …

Every time I read about this HONY story about Vidal and Mott Hall Bridges Academy, I tear up over the power of photography and social media put to work for good. PS … there’s still time to donate to the Indiegogo campaign!

And while I’m sharing feel-good tearjerker stories, the Cincinnati Bengals player who was kept on the practice squad so he’d have insurance to cover his daughter’s cancer battle has written a book for kids fighting cancer.
