It’s a simple game of spot the birdie.

The only problem is… it really isn’t that simple at all.

Can you identify the bird or birds in this incredible nature photo?

The image, from Parks Australia, contains two birds on a tree stump.

You can see them, with their eyes closed and their mouths pointing to the top left, in between the two pieces of bark.

They are tawny frogmouths, who use the stumps to provide the perfect camouflage.

This Australian bird species are nocturnal “sit-and-wait hunters”, and their silvery-grey plumage allows them to blend in with the bark on a tree stump.

As this image shows, they can appear practically invisible.

And even when the tawny frogmouth is spotted, it is often mistaken for an owl.

The image has been shared recently by thousands of web users.

It has been viewed more than 57,000 times on photo sharing site Imgur.

It has also been posted on Reddit, where users were slightly confused about birds and frogs.

One redditor commented: “That’s impressive. I imagine (still trying to find it).”

Another joked: “This camouflage is so good it looks like a bird rather than a frog.”
