Twin Room at The Gleneagles Hotel

One of the hotel’s most luxurious suites is the Blue Tower Suite. Split over two levels, it boasts spectacular views across the hotel grounds and features two elegant bedrooms, a luxurious bathroom and steam shower room.

The suite’s pièce de résistance is the beautifully crafted spiral staircase, which winds its way upstairs to the sophisticated living area found in the hotel’s original tower. With its very own private roof terrace, it’s ideal for taking advantage of the splendid views.

The Spirit Suite

The hotel’s Spirit Suites are located on the top floor and many face onto the hotel’s picturesque gardens. Comprised of two luxury bedrooms and a comfortable living room, each suite is sumptuously designed and fitted with lush soft furnishings.

The hotel also has a great selection of room styles available for guests. Choose from an Estate Room, with beautiful views of The Gleneagles estate, spacious Sovereign Rooms, Family Rooms or the charming Classic Room.

Restaurants

The Strathearn’s delicious fare

The Strathearn brings the tastes and flavours of traditional French cuisine to the hills of Perthshire. Renowned across Scotland for its fine-dining experience, the restaurant offers a unique menu that features old favourites with twists on classic dishes.

The seasonal Spring Scotch lamb is always popular amongst guests, as is the famous Gessingham duck, which is served with tortellini, parsnip, and pea shoots – the ideal comfort food. From mountain lamb, game off the moor, aged beef to smoked salmon, seasonal produce is extremely important at Gleneagles.

“About 60% of our ingredients come from within 60 miles of the hotel. We are very lucky to have the natural larder of Scotland on our doorstep – the best game, Scotch beef, seafood and Perthshire berries,” said Resort Executive Chef at Gleneagles, Alan Gibb.

Andrew Fairlie is one of this country’s most celebrated cooks and, with two Michelin stars, his exquisite restaurant Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles is a sumptuous setting for a meal that will live long in the memory.

Deseo bistro

Unveiled in 2007, Deseo was designed to recreate the atmosphere of a bustling food emporium. Filled to the brim with fresh ingredients, tempting aromas and a delicious menu, Deseo boasts authentic Mediterranean cuisine in the heart of Scotland. Choose from a wide selection of tapas, classic Italian recipes, such as Risotto alla Milanese or freshly prepared seafood.

Dormy Clubhouse

Also on site is the Dormy Clubhouse Bar & Grill, a wonderful place to sample a menu full of delicious surprises. Beautifully appointed, with a choice of distinctive seating areas, the Dormy offers an all-day menu built around modern bar food classics and spicy selections from the restaurant’s own tandoor oven.

With an open fire, elegant soft furnishings and fine views over the 18th holes of both The King’s and Queen’s courses, The Dormy is perfect for golfers and non-golfers alike.

Bars

The Bar

Inspired by the jazz-age glamour of the 1920’s, The Bar’s elegant surroundings are a joy to relax in. The ideal place to unwind after a long day on the golf course, guests can choose from a selection of more than 120 single malt whiskies, vintage champagne by the glass, excellent wines and the very best draught Guinness – but you can be the judge of that.

The Daisy Chain cocktail

One of The Bar’s most delectable cocktails is The Daisy Chain. Concocted by Head Bartender Cameron Johnson, this delicious treat is made using Haig Club Whiskey and chilled chamomile tea. Perfect for both seasoned whisky drinkers and those looking to try something new.

Golf

The Gleneagles’ sprawling golf courses

Gleneagles and golf go hand-in-hand. Having successfully hosted the 2014 Ryder Cup, where Europe trounced the United States by 16 and a half to 11 and a half points, the hotel remains a firm favourite amongst golfing enthusiasts.

Today golfers can recreate Jamie Donaldson’s winning shot on the 15th hole of The PGA Centenary Course which was designed by famed golfer Jack Nicklaus. The course plays southeast towards the glen and then sweeps up the Ochil Hills to the summit of the pass below Ben Shee – a tough test for any dedicated golfer. Besides the excellent golf, the course also offers spectacular panorama views across the countryside.

Enjoy a round of golf at The Gleneagles

Home to two other courses, the King’s Course is a masterpiece of golf course design. Opened in 1919, the green has tested both professional and amateur golfers alike and continues to challenge the best players over 18 holes.

The Queen’s Course is a naturally beautiful course that inspires the world’s most experienced players. The Queen’s Course, in its long history, has played host to some of the world’s golfing greats, including Johnny Miller, Greg Norman, Seve Ballesteros, Tom Watson and Lee Trevino, as well as great names from the entertainment world including Sean Connery, Bing Crosby and astronaut Alan Shepard – the only man to hit a golf shot on the moon.

Practice your swing at the PGA National Golf Academy

Established in 2010, The PGA National Golf Academy at Gleneagles has lead the golf coaching revolution within the UK and promises to fine tune the skills golfers need to make a mark on the game. Providing excellent one-on-one coaching in outstanding facilities, the academy is the ideal place to hone your swing.

“We don’t require a handicap certificate, and our courses are open to guests and visitors alike. For beginners, we offer expert tuition at the PGA National Golf Academy, and guests may wish to test their skills with a round on the 9-hole PGA National Academy Course.”

Spa

The Gleneagles’ Indoor swimming pool

If you want to de-stress, unwind and feel rejuvenated then a trip to The Spa by ESPA is in order.  From the moment you arrive, you’re treated to soothing music and a serene atmosphere to help you ease into a relaxed frame of mind.

With an award-winning interior design, it is recommended guests arrive at least an hour before their treatment to explore the indulgent relaxation rooms and courtyard garden.

Enjoy all the various treatments at The Gleneagles’ spa

The Source is one of The Gleneagles’ signature spa treatments. This sumptuous therapy consists of a calming foot ritual and a full body exfoliation then tired muscles are warmed using unique muslin-wrapped herbal infusions. The treatment is concluded with a full-body massage and a tension relieving scalp massage.

Outdoor Activities

Shooting School

As a resort Gleneagles is famous – and award-winning – for its golf courses, dining experiences and spa, but its country setting allows the hotel to offer so much more in the form of country pursuits.

Gleneagles legendary Shooting School is open to everyone from crack-shots to those who are new to the sport. Offering a range of shooting opportunities – including clay pigeon, air rifles, archery and full stalking and shooting breaks – the world-class facilities have made shooting one of the hotel’s most popular activities.

Gundog School

Also on site is the hotel’s Gundog School. Here, guests work with the hotel’s resident dogs – a very affable group of sleek Labradors – learning how to get the most of their agility, incorporating obedience and handling.

“Whether shooting, riding or something in between, our dedicated staff can take you through every level, regardless of whether you are just starting out or a regular enthusiast.”

Off-roading at Gleneagles

The rugged terrain surrounding the hotel has allowed Gleneagles to develop a selection of exhilarating off-roading courses – both for 4×4 Land Rovers and all-terrain vehicles.

Being surrounded by moors, hillside and forested areas also lends to spectacular opportunities for wildlife photography and the winding rivers nearby are perfect for a spot of fishing.
