This year the European Day of Early Music is celebrated for the first time in Romania through “To Bach or not to Bach”, a show dedicated to the chamber creation of Johann Sebastian Bach, which is to take place at the Anglican Church at 7 pm on March 21.
The European Day of Early Music is held each year on a date which celebrates the birth of the most relevant composer of early music: Johann Sebastian Bach (born on March 21, 1685).
Organized by the European Early Music Network (REMA), “The Day” celebrates more than a millennium of music. The performances taking place simultaneously throughout Europe, organized by REMA members, constitute the event of the year in terms of promoting historical musical heritage in Europe. This is an important online event, the live concerts being broadcasted through Internet streaming.

– Canon a 2 from “The musical offering”, BWV 1079.
– Adagio from Sonata no. 1 in G minor for Violin Solo, BWV 1001.
– Sonata in G major for Violin and Harpsichord, BWV 1019: Allegro – Largo – Allegro (cembalo solo) – Adagio – Allegro.
– Fuga canonica in Epidiapente from “The musical offering”, BWV 1079.
