RYL: “THE NOISE” is the title of your last album; are you happy about the feedback you have received so far? What does it mean for you lyrically speaking?
RABYT: Yes, the feedback has been amazing! Support and love from all over the world has been overwhelmingly, soul shaking, and humbling. “THE NOISE” is my life’s statement to date.
It speaks to the challenge and struggle I had just to get this music out of my head and into your ears; from losing several important people in my life, living and moving all over the United States, and at one point being homeless in New York with nothing but my guitar and backpack. I’ve fought more metaphoric “wars” than not, just to sing these few songs.
So it’s a real thrill and privilege to finally have them -And for that I’ll be forever grateful.
RYL: What does “MIXTAPE” mean for you?
RABYT: Mixtape is about how music affects me. When I was little, I believed music was a gateway to imaginary worlds.
And in many ways I still feel that. It allowed/allows me to escape the stresses of life. Music has always been my friend, a constant companion. No matter where I’ve traveled or how alone I’ve felt, its been there for me.
My private “church” and a place of understanding. I’ve always been a bit anti-social and when I was younger, was usually off on my own while other kids connected on the playgrounds.
Music transports me to another realm and I wanted to share those feeling with listeners who might relate.
RYL: Is there a common meaning/theme between all the songs of the EP?
RABYT: My themes are varied, but all together I wanted this collection to say “be yourself, go ahead and get rowdy, fight for what’s up, don’t let others bring you down, and if you feel misunderstood, know that others like me feel that too.” All that, and that I love ROCK-N-ROLL!!
RYL: How did the lyrics of “WHATCHYA GOT?” come about?
RABYT: “WHATCHYA GOT?” is a response to a male record exec who told me I’d never stand a chance. It’s a song against opposition, specifically the shit I’ve faced as a female.
This song is one for the girls, or anyone who’s ever been told they’re not enough.
I say FUCK OFF! You don’t know my story and you have no idea of what I’m capable of. I’m just getting started -And if I want to take this to the moon, I will!
RYL: How do you usually write the lyrics and music of your songs?
RABYT: Writing music and lyrics is a never-ending thing with me. Whether it be jotting down random ideas in my journal, humming new melodies in the shower, playing my guitar.
Emotion is stirred from everything… inspiration can be found anywhere if you’re willing to feel it. Music usually finds me strongest in stillness. I don’t watch television, I’d rather read a book, spend time researching interests, or talking about mind-expanding topics.
Also, a good walk around the block with my dog, being outdoors amplifies it.
In fact, as I am writing this… I just thought of a new song title 
RYL: Tell us everything about “Falling Stars Of NYC”….
RABYT: “Falling Stars of New York City” is based on my real experiences at a popular hotel in the West Village, NYC.
It’s a place that attracted some of the most eclectic people I’ve ever met. Being alone at gatherings such as those and being an observer, but at the same time being romanced by the rock-n-roll scene –Similar to the stuff Lou Reed experienced during the CBGB’s heyday.
NYC can be electric and lonely all at the same time. At least that’s how I felt.
RYL: What is of most importance for you while doing music?
RABYT: To express what’s truly in my heart, no matter what emotion I’m feeling.
Music is freedom; the freedom of my soul singing.
RYL: What is the best verse you’ve ever written?
RABYT: There’s a song that will make my next full length record that isn’t on this introduction EP.
If I ever where to have an opus, it would be it. I love it so very much, it’s titled, “Luxury of Time”:

RYL: What is the last song you wrote (not published yet)?
RABYT: “Forget The Fear”
RYL: Any plans for touring this summer?
RABYT: I’m putting all of that together right now. I recently added a new team member, who’s negotiating me opening for an amazing artist I admire.
I’m hopeful about the possibilities, because it’d surely be a dream come true!
