Hello lovelies

For the last week or so I have had permanent excitable butterflies…and that can only mean one thing! I’M GETTING MARRIED SOOOOON!

When you read this it will be just over a week until our wedding day and the final run has definitely began, however this also marks an end to my time as a Rock my Wedding Real Bride, and I will really miss it! Thank you to each and every one of you who has read and commented on my posts, they mean more to me than you know!

Things are slowly but surely clicking into place…there’s still a lot to do, don’t get me wrong, and despite feeling to the contrary, I am starting to tick things off my long list in my ‘Ultimate Wedding Spreadsheet’ as it is now known.

I thought throughout this last post I’d finally share with you our e-shoot pictures. We have to say a humungous thank you to Chris Barber for them; he couldn’t have captured the two of us, or our relationship better. They’re completely natural and just us laughing our heads off! And despite the rain and the cold and the fact that he forgot his coat, Chris was amazing and completely put us at ease and has made us both feel tonnes better about having our photos taken on W day.

The Bit When It All Becomes Real…

I’ll also have collected my dress by the time you read this and I think that will be the point when it finally hits home that we’re getting married, that I will be bride in a wedding dress, marrying a boy in his suit… I’ll be an ACTUAL WIFE!

I’m really going to miss my dress fittings though at the Lace Market Bridal Boutique with Kula and Laura. Having my dress made just for me, and seeing it right from the design stage to the finished dress has been absolutely amazing and those guys have become more like friends than anything… They somehow make you feel like you’re they’re only client. So thank you to everyone there I’ll be sure to pop in at regular intervals for a chat.

A little birdie also tells me that they may be having a sample sale on the 30th June so get down there sharpish ladies, I promise it will be the best thing you ever did!

Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff

When I sat down to write this it forced me to think about our whole wedding planning journey and although in these posts we go on about all the good stuff I thought maybe I should point out that not everything has gone right!

In some cases far from it… Some of the things we wanted are just now not going to happen; some of my decorations have just not worked, my lacy lanterns may have been a messy, sticky, starchy flop of a failure; guests have dropped out, come back and then dropped out again; those lovely duck egg blue bridesmaids dresses I was having made just did not happen in the end (but don’t worry, I’m actually even happier with what we have now), and a load more things that I can’t even remember now. I’m also quite sure there will be things on the day that don’t go exactly as they were meant to (although with Carmen at the helm I know that it will be sorted in the end)…

But do you know what…that’s actually fine.

Very rarely in life does everything go exactly to plan, and our wedding will more than likely be no different. I think the closer we get the more I’m trying to not sweat the small stuff and the things that, lets face it, we have zero control over.

It might chuck it down all day, we may get some last minute cancellations and someone may spill a drink down my dress (have seen it happen… Was not impressed!) but we will be husband and wife by the end of the day and well… That’s the point really.

The Oscar Speech

Now for the cheesy bit…

Thank you to RMW for allowing my rambles on your beautiful pages. When looking through my list of suppliers I realised it looks quite a lot like your Love Lust List so thank you for that too, we might not have found these lovely people without you.

Thank you to my fellow Real Brides, you’re all beautiful and I’ve loved sharing this journey with you and watching you all go off and get married, it’s been an honour!

There will be lots of time on the day and afterwards for thanks to all the people who will make our wedding day the most wonderful day of our lives, so I won’t mention them all now or we might be here forever. There is, however, one very special person for who without, none of this would matter, and that’s my Chris.

He is my very best friend; he’s the first person I want to see first when I wake up and the last when I fall asleep. He’s the first person I want to tell when there’s good news and also when there’s bad. He knows all my strange quirks, my irrational moods, my fiery temper, and he seems to love me anyway. I’ve been lucky enough to have been with this man for 8 years of my life and I’m so proud of the person he’s become. Thank you Chris for choosing me to share your life with it’s an honour and a privilege that I will never take for granted. I can’t think of a better way to start our next chapter than with all the people we love the most, throwing them the biggest party we will ever throw to celebrate!

I love you with every little bit of me… To the moon and the stars and back again.

So, here’s to the next chapter folks. I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one

Lots of love
