It’s no secret that Team RMW are huge fans of the ballet, we produced a whole styled editorial inspired by it. We’re also fans of Love Lust List member Debbie Carlise and her pretty unique headpiece and jewellery designs for brides.

For her latest “Adagio” collection Debbie has also taken inspiration from all that is Swan Lake – the grace, femininity and dreamy fluidity of the ballet.

Do let us know which piece is your favourite lovelies.

Debbie Carlisle: In the past I’ve been strongly influenced by vintage styles and while this is still the case, in this collection I’ve moved on to create something that combines classic styling with a much more contemporary edge and a very feminine, ethereal feel. I think the ballet really encapsulates the effortless grace a lot of brides want to feel on their wedding day and the prima ballerina with her combination of strength and femininity was something I really kept in mind while designing the new collection.

Adagio consists of nine new headpiece designs plus a few reworked old favourites and, for the first time, I have added a new element to my accessories – earrings. I’ve had so many requests from brides looking for earrings that would work with my other accessories that I decided to add a selection of pieces to my website that reflect my style and would work with my headpieces and vintage jewellery bouquets. The result is a collection of 22 pairs of beautiful pierced and clip-on earrings that work perfectly with my style and range from timelessly elegant studs like Odette (£45) and Ophelia (£35) to full-on Hollywood-style showstoppers like Eva (£60) and Hattie (£85).

The Adagio collection includes some of my most versatile headpieces yet. The Ophelia (£95) and Darcey (£145) circlet halos are real-multi-taskers which can be worn on the crown of the head with the encrusted diamante embellishments resting on the forehead or at the side of the head – or pinned into place as a double-strand forehead band or looped at the back of the head over loose bohemian curls or under a high top knot bun.

Aurora is available either as an off-centre black satin headband (£125) with three flower and leaf elements which seem to float independently on the hair – or as separate combs (£55 and £30) which can be worn on their own or arranged in different groupings.

The Titania forehead jewel (£35) is a delicate droplet design made up of Swarovski crystals and pearls dangling from a slim sparkling gold or silver-plated chain which can be pinned into place across the forehead or at the back or side of the head and can be worn with matching Titania gold or silver droplet earrings (£25).

Carmen (£125) is a delicate diamante and pearl beaded wedding headband which ties with an ethereal slim ivory organza ribbon at the back of the head or the nape of the neck for comfort and perfect fit. Carmen can be worn as a forehead band as well as in tiara or traditional headband position.

The Odette wedding headband (£165) is a statement headpiece which groups a cluster of leaves encrusted with shimmering glass seed and bugle beads around a glittering diamond-shaped crystal centrepiece that oozes old Hollywood glamour. Brides looking for a simpler style – or a smaller version for their bridesmaids – can choose Odette’s baby sister, the Juliet comb (£75), which groups six shimmering leaves around a smaller diamante circular centrepiece for a more delicate look. A birdcage veil (£30) can also be added to create a more striking vintage look.

Coppelia (£135) combines the feel of a traditional bridal tiara with a more modern wedding headband style for a classic and contemporary look and comes as standard on a black satin ribbon-wrapped headband – or brides can choose a colour of their choice to tone with their hair.

Margot (£35) is a simple and classic bridal comb perfect for the understated bride – or to delicately accessorise a bold statement gown. Equally at home on bridesmaids, Margot mixes round, oval and marquise cut crystals to create an effortlessly elegant diamond-shaped design.

Rosa (£125) is a new take on an old favourite – a delicate floral comb created from pearly white and silver tone glass beads with a delicate ivory pearl beaded centre. The bugle beads give the piece real warmth which makes it work perfectly with white, ivory and gold tones.

The Lavish Olivia comb (£155) is a statement version of my existing three-leaf Olivia comb. The new version sees five subtly shimmering leaves embellished with glass bugle and seed beads grouped around a single glittering circular diamante centrepiece.

There’s also a new take on my Lola garter design (£45) for the new collection – a nude gathered tulle creation which features a gorgeous diamante and pearl droplet for the ultimate in luxury and decadence.

I’m so proud of the new collection and of the photographs produced to showcase the new designs. I always ask wedding and editorial photographer India Hobson to photograph my collections because I love the way she uses natural light to create such beautiful, ethereal painterly images and I think she’s outdone herself this year.

I also loved the make-up look Zoe Peplow created for gorgeous model Victoria, mixing neutral tones with strong lashes and eyebrows and red lips for a classic and glamorous look which combines strength with femininity. I particularly loved the top knot Zoe effortlessly created by tying Victoria’s hair on top of her head, back-combing the pony tail for massive volume and then roughly plaiting the first half of the ponytail and leaving the bottom section loose before wrapping it around itself to create a rough top knot and pinning it into place. I love how glamorous yet relaxed this style looks –and the fact it is so easy to achieve!

Debbie’s new collection is available to view and buy online now on her website. Debbie will be unveiling the entire new collection in person for the first time at the Designer Vintage Bridal Show in Birmingham on October 12 and 13 where you can see and try the pieces on and chat to Debbie about the best way to style your wedding day look.

Big Adagio Love
