If you want wedding inspiration then look no further than Bride The Wedding show at Westpoint arena. Packed full of everything from dresses to decor you are definitely going to leave with a lot of ideas. You may even get to eat cake too!

Going to a good wedding show is a great way to plan your wedding – and in many ways it’s a rehearsal for the big day itself. And you can now get half price tickets to Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena, Exeter on October 8 and 9.

Enjoying a successful, inspirational day at a wedding show is all in the planning. It should have lots of the elements that will also make your wedding itself a great success.

First The Venue

Choose your wedding show carefully. Look for one that has a wide range of quality suppliers based in the area where you’re holding your wedding.

Then make sure you’re surrounded by the people who matter most. You might want to take your partner (but only if they’re enthusiastic). Otherwise make it a day out with family and friends.

This is the place to begin your planning, or to add the final touches. You can try on dresses, taste cake and wine, chat to photographers, have your make-up done…

But it’s not all about looking and booking, getting ideas and inspiration – just like a wedding it should be a fun, eventful and entertaining day. Bride: The Wedding Show is renowned as a great day out, with music, a sprinkling of magic, good food, champagne and the best catwalk in the business.

The Next Bride: The Wedding Show

Bride: The Wedding Show is at Westpoint Arena, Exeter, on October 8 and 9, 2016, and a host of Devon’s finest wedding businesses will be there to show off their products and services and talk to visitors.

Joanne Goodwin, editorial director at Archant Bride, which runs the shows recommends the following: “Make a plan beforehand of what you want to achieve: are you looking for the big stuff such as your dress, your venue or your photographer? Or are you at the end of your planning and want to browse for the final touches? Start the day with a good look through the show guide which is given away on entry. Sit down with a cup of coffee or a glass of champagne and work out which catwalk show you want to see –they are so much fun they’re worth the ticket price alone – then make a note of which exhibitors interest you most and plan a route.
“Wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be doing plenty of walking but also take along your wedding shoes if you already have them as you might want to try on dresses.
“Bride: The Wedding Show is a great day out, it’s so much fun, and it’s a chance to meet and get to know the cream of the South West’s wedding businesses to see if they’re the right partners to help you plan your perfect day.”

*At this year’s Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena the first 100 brides through the doors on each day will get a goody bag of samples and visitors receive a free South West Bride magazine, plus a show guide. There are more than 170 exhibitors and a marquee of wedding transport.
The catwalk shows are at 11.30am, 1.15pm and 3pm, acts including Blue Lion Band, FullyFunctional, Steve Dott Sings and magician Dan Brazier will perform, and for lovers of all wedding things retro there’s a dedicated vintage area. Advice From Exhibitors

West Country exhibitors offer their advice on planning your day at Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint arena.

Ben Lee Photoimagery : “Pick the types of supplier you are after, research them via their websites before turning up, make sure they are the sort of thing you are after, create a short list and visit them first. Then mooch around the show, enjoy it and who knows what gem you might find around the corner.”

Bowjars: “If you really like a product then make sure you let the company know and leave your details. Take their card or leaflet.  Ask lots of questions, for example, ask if you can contact their satisfied customers. Will they go the extra mile to make your wedding plans smooth and enjoyable?  Can they be flexible to suit what you want?”

Brides with Curves: “Take your time, don’t rush, suppliers are there all day and will take the time to talk with you.

Take business cards from the exhibitors so you can contact them after the event.

Take cash, you never know what you might find.

Take people along who want to be there.

Try not to get overwhelmed as there will be so much to see and do. Enjoy the wedding show and remember you are marrying the person you love.”

Mandy’s Classic Cakes: “Be willing to have a chat with all the suppliers and make it a day out and have fun.”

Browns of Totnes: “Our best advice for the day would be to have a plan, make sure you visit all the stands and most of all, don’t panic buy. If you’re interested in a particular product or service and are not 100% sure, then make arrangements to visit the store at a later date.”

Buckland Tout-Saints Hotel: “Ask the suppliers lots of questions so that you are well-informed and grab as much information as the venue offers, as well as booking a show-round to get a real feel for the venue.”

Claro Creations Bridalwear: “It is advisable to have some ideas of what you are looking for but also be open to new ideas – if these make your heart flutter and your emotions soar they are the ones for you. Make sure you look around all the exhibits and get contact information and questions answered from the ones that interest you the most. We are all there to help you make your special day as happy and perfect as you dream it will be. Don’t you deserve it?”

Ocean Kave: “Come with an open mind and don’t be afraid to ask as many questions as you need to – organising your wedding is one of the most important events you will ever need to plan. When you select your wedding suppliers you need to feel comfortable that they understand your needs and listen to how you want your day to run.”
