“Everyone knows that nothing compares to pizza in New York! One of my favorite places to go is Artichoke Basille’s for their massive pizza slices. Their signature “artichoke” slice is made with a thick cream sauce that’s mixed with mozzarella, Pecorino Romano cheese, artichoke and spinach goodness. “If I had to choose my top place in NYC to grab a slice, it would be Grimaldi’s. Being from Jersey, there is a method to my pizza madness (being on the other side of the river sometimes it’s tough to cure those pizza cravings!). My all-time favorite from Grimaldi’s is their original pie—you literally can’t go wrong. “Having tried almost every pizza on the menu, I have settled into my routine and order the same pizza every time. The Soppressata—it’s perfect. The spicy Italian meat is cooked to perfection in the wood stove. The edges curl up just right and add a little crunch. I ask for a side of olive oil and dip my leftover crust in. “When I was younger, I wasn’t a huge fan of pizza. But the first place I ever had New York pizza quickly changed my mind! John’s Pizzeria is known for their ‘no slice’ style! I’m a sucker for their Bruschetta pizza which has mozzarella cheese, diced Roma tomatoes marinated in olive oil, fresh garlic and basil. “My favorite pizza spot is Numero 28! The aroma of fresh garlic is so enticing. My favorite is the prosciutto arugula or the mushroom pizza. The crust is what really makes this pizza amazing.
