The “Artichoke Slice” from Artichoke Basille’s Pizza

If there’s one thing New Yorkers are passionate about, it’s finding a drool-worthy, pinch-and-fold NY-style slice. Whether you prefer a thin-as-cardboard slice at a fancy artisanal place, extra cheese at a casual joint or a Sicilian pie loaded with toppings at an old school pizzeria, you’ll find it in the Big Apple. So without further ado, here are 10 spots the Rockettes love to grab a slice:

Teresa’s Brick Oven Pizza & Café | 51 W. 51st St.; 212.265.7988
“While there are a million and one places to get an amazing slice of pizza in NYC, my favorite is based on taste and convenience: Teresa’s Brick Oven Pizza. The crust is super doughy, while the cheese isn’t too cheesy and the sauce not too saucy. Plus, it’s located directly across the street from the Stage Door at Radio City Music Hall!” —Rockette Danelle

Roberta’s | 261 Moore St., Brooklyn; 718.417.1118
“Nestled in Bushwick, Roberta’s makes a mean wood-fired pizza with the tastiest dough that’s always cooked to perfection—thin and light, yet hearty and memorable (my go-to: classic Margherita!). One of my favorite things about this place is that they have special off-menu pizzas that are made according to what is growing in their garden at that season.” —Rockette Lindsay

Artichoke Basille’s Pizza | 328 E. 14th St., 212.228.2004
“Everyone knows that nothing compares to pizza in New York! One of my favorite places to go is Artichoke Basille’s for their massive pizza slices. Their signature “artichoke” slice is made with a thick cream sauce that’s mixed with mozzarella, Pecorino Romano cheese, artichoke and spinach goodness. It’s as if you smothered a pizza with creamy artichoke and spinach dip (two of my favorite things put together!). Genius.” —Rockette Christine

“My absolute favorite spot to grab a slice of pizza in this amazing city is Artichoke Pizza! I was introduced to this spot about four years ago. I am a very basic girl when it comes to food—I don’t typically go outside the box. So when someone said, “you should try a slice of artichoke pizza,” I thought they were crazy. But after my first bite, I was hooked.” —Rockette Sarah

Grimaldi’s Coal Brick-Oven Pizzeria | 1 Front Street, Brooklyn; 718.858.4300
“If I had to choose my top place in NYC to grab a slice, it would be Grimaldi’s. Being from Jersey, there is a method to my pizza madness (being on the other side of the river sometimes it’s tough to cure those pizza cravings!). My all-time favorite from Grimaldi’s is their original pie—you literally can’t go wrong. The sauce is so tasty and the fresh mozzarella on their thin crust dough is amazing with every bite!” —Rockette Katie

Pizzetteria Brunetti | 626 Hudson St.; 212.255.5699
“Having tried almost every pizza on the menu, I have settled into my routine and order the same pizza every time. The Soppressata—it’s perfect. The spicy Italian meat is cooked to perfection in the wood stove. The edges curl up just right and add a little crunch. I ask for a side of olive oil and dip my leftover crust in. Not a morsel goes uneaten. —Rockette Melissa

John’s Pizzeria | 260 W. 44th St.; 212.391.7560
“When I was younger, I wasn’t a huge fan of pizza. But the first place I ever had New York pizza quickly changed my mind! John’s Pizzeria is known for their ‘no slice’ style! I’m a sucker for their Bruschetta pizza which has mozzarella cheese, diced Roma tomatoes marinated in olive oil, fresh garlic and basil.  The fresh ingredients on top the thin crust convince me I’m having a healthy cheat meal!” —Rockette Taylor

Angelo’s Pizza | 1697 Broadway; 212.245.8811
“While creative pizza is fun, when it comes down to it, a classic NY slice is always the best way to go! Angelo’s coal oven pizza is one of my favorites. The Margherita pizza with tiny pepperonis is the best! That slice with a side of their beet salad … heaven!” —Rockette Traci

Lombardi’s Pizza | 32 Spring St.; 212.941.7994
“Lombardi’s Pizza is New York City’s own little bite of Italy. Not only does this traditional pizzeria have what I believe are the freshest, most perfectly charred thin crust pizzas, it has an atmosphere that brings you back in time with their old brown wooden chairs, red and white checkerboard tablecloths and photos of celebrities who have visited lining the walls.” —Rockette Katelyn

Numero 28 | 660 Amsterdam Ave.; 212.706.7282
“My favorite pizza spot is Numero 28! The aroma of fresh garlic is so enticing. My favorite is the prosciutto arugula or the mushroom pizza. The crust is what really makes this pizza amazing. I fell in love with pizza in Italy and this crust reminds me of Italy. It is a small cozy restaurant and everything is made fresh. It’s the only pizza I crave!” —Rockette Kim

Bleecker Street Pizza | 69 7th Ave. South; 212.924.4466

“My favorite place to grab a slice in NYC is Bleecker Street Pizza. It’s in the West Village; one of my favorite neighborhoods to hang out in. The “Grandma Slice” is a little piece of heaven!” —Rockette Melinda
