Contact has been restored with the Surrey Space technology microsatellite STRaND-1, a spacecraft which demonstrates the use of an Android phone as a CPU. The spacecraft unexpectedly stopped transmitting on March 30, 2013 and radio amateurs around the world have been listening for it ever since on a frequency of 437.568 MHz (+/- 10 kHz Doppler). Signals were recovered on 23rd July by radio amateur Mike Rupprecht (see report).
