When Drupal aficionados descend on Baltimore from April 24-28 for this year’s DrupalCon North America, you can bet that CHIEF will be there in full force. At this annual event, creative minds come together to discuss and build solutions for complex challenges, ultimately working towards engineering the best possible Drupal products. We are proud to be part of DrupalCon, not just as a sponsor, but also as an agency of web developers, technical content strategists, designers and UXers who are passionate about this open source community.

CHIEF’s history with DrupalCon is deep—we have been attending the event since 2006. Our team has presented at national Drupal conferences, most recently in New Orleans (DrupalCon 2016) and Austin (DrupalCon 2014). But the value of attending DrupalCon is not just in structured sessions and presentations. CHIEF’s Director of Technology and DrupalCon devotee, Kat Kuhl, encourages attendees to engage in more informal sharing through Birds of a Feather sessions (BOFs).

“It’s so great to hear from members of the Drupal community through BOFs,” says Kuhl. “Those conversations are so unique, and you can’t get that anywhere else.” At these national gatherings, we have the opportunity to engage with the larger Drupal community and learn from, and with, some of the most creative minds in the industry.

Our involvement with the Drupal community started locally. CHIEF staff has presented at Drupal DC events and local and regional camps, including Drupal GovCon 2014, 2015, and 2016 and Drupal GovDays 2013 and 2016. We’ve also presented at regional camps in San Francisco (BADCamp 2014, 2015, and 2016) and New York City (NYC Camp 2015). Our involvement in the community and the knowledge sharing that occurs at these gatherings helps us design and build flexible, accessible Drupal solutions for our clients. As an agency, we have over a decade of experience with the product. Starting with Drupal 4.7 all the way to Drupal 8 today, we’ve developed websites for clients such as the National Parks Foundation, the U.S. Department of State, USAID and the Federal Trade Commission. We continue to use the platform to build transformative digital experiences for clients across industry verticals. CHIEF even had a role supporting the United States Digital Service’s Drupal efforts at the White House!

Are you a Drupal fanatic? Then we want to connect with you! We’re actively looking for both Front-end and Back-end Drupal developers. You can also register for DrupalCon 2017 and chat with a CHIEF team member at the event. We look forward to meeting you!
