The former home of Juanita’s in the River Market is getting a new tenant. Buenos Aires Grill and Café has announced on its Facebook page it is planning for a grand opening in the next month or so. Buenos Aires Grill and Café will serve up Argentinian cuisine, making it the third major South American restaurant opening in Little Rock in the past couple of years (Lulu’s Latin Rotisserie and La Terraza). Buenos Aires says its menu will include asado, empanadas, chimichurri and other regional recipes.

Late Tuesday, Ira’s Park Hill Grill in North Little Rock emailed its customers that it was selling its current location to relocate to downtown Little Rock. Ira’s will close down after its dinner service on Saturday, Jan. 21 for the move to 307 Main St., which is across the street from Bruno’s Little Italy (incidentally, Ira’s will host a wine dinner with Jay Bruno next week). Calls to Ira’s went unanswered Tuesday evening, so we don’t yet know who’s buying the Park Hill location or when Ira’s will reopen, but we’ll keep checking and get some more information in the coming days.

Honey Pies is introducing the first of their new cooking classes on January 19th with a pie baking class. The event will teach how to make apple pie from scratch along with answering any pie making questions. All materials are provided except for a rolling pin (BYO-Rolling Pin). The class is January 19 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. $50 per person. (501) 613-7950. Additional cooking classes are on their way and they will begin offering private classes as well upon request.

We are two and a half weeks away from the 36th Little Rock Soup Sunday at the Statehouse Convention Center. Around three dozen local restaurants will be on hand serving up their best soup recipes for the event. This year’s feature chef is Chris McMillan of Boulevard Bistro. Little Rock Soup Sunday is the annual fundraiser for Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, which advocates for children’s health, education opportunities and economic security. Tickets for the event are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

A driver ran into The Oyster Bar during the ice storm last week, causing some damage to the outside wall underneath one of the front-facing windows. The Oyster Bar was closed at the time, and nobody was hurt in the accident. A family member of the driver says he lost control of the vehicle when he swerved to avoid a red-light runner. The Oyster Bar is open for normal business hours despite the damage. It’s unknown how long it will take to get the wall fixed.

Don’t forget, today and tonight are the last chances you’ll have to get a meal at kBird for the next month. Richard Glasgow is closing the restaurant from tomorrow until Feb. 13 so he can travel to Thailand. Also, Nepalese food truck Katmandu Momo is going on break until at least March, with a trip to Nepal planned during the time off.

Arkansas is a comfort food state, with plenty of dishes that stick to the ribs and make you feel happy. We went all around Central Arkansas to find the 20 best comfort food dishes to enjoy this winter.

Flyway Brewing is getting inspiration from an unusual source: its front-of-house staff. We checked out the employee brew program and previewed the resulting Cardinal Cider coming out of Flyway later this week.
