Sorry, but I think you'll find that the Southern League is only an AKA and not its current official sponsored title. I still stand by my full comment before it was dissected in a quote, where I said I don't know why the people who run the divisions (I guess I should have said sponsors as well to appease those who look for every possible loophole, despite it being plainly obvious due to my use of Blue Sq Bet) don't have league in the title.

Not until you get to Step FIVE of NON-LEAGUE does the title of a division have "league" in it.

Let me put this nice and simply, so as Shade can understand it - the proper name of each league is the no sponsored name. Even then, the sponsored name of the SOuthern League is the Evostik League Southern, which still appears to use the word League

So
Premier League
Football League (3 Divisions)
Football Conference (3 Divisions - Steps 1/2 "non League")
Southern League, Northern Premier League and Isthmian League (3 Divisions each - Steps 3/4 "non League").

Step 5
Northern League, North West Counties League, Northern Counties (East) League, Midland Football Alliance, United Counties League, Eastern League, Western League, Hellenic League, Wessex League, Combined Counties League, Spartan South Midlands League, Sussex League, Kent League, Essex Senior League

Step 6
lower division of all Step 5 Leagues except the Midland Football Alliance, Kent League and Essex Senior League (all of which have one division only), plus West Midland (Regional) League, Midland Combination, East Midland Football League, Kent Invicta League and South Western Peninsular League.

Leo - can you clarify whether Darlington will go up from the Northern League to the Northern Premier League if they win the former. There rarely seems to be movement between those two steps.
