I want to give a huge thanks to Christine Messier of Your Voice, Inc. For those of you who have read my book, Dude making a Difference, you are already a little familiar with her work. Without her the book may never have happened!

Back in 2013 I embarked on my first bike ride across America with intentions to live as environmentally friendly as possible while bringing attention to environmental issues. Almost every night of the 104 day ride I spent a few hours writing in my tent, on a picnic table, or sitting on the couch of whoever was hosting me for the night. I shared that writing in blogs and on Facebook throughout the summer and by the end of the ride I had more than enough to put together a book. The problem was that I actually had too much content and that it would take a lot of work to cut it down and patch it together into a book.

For about over a year after I returned back to San Diego I sat on the project feeling about 75% done but not really knowing how to get it all together into one story. That’s where Christine came in. She was a friend of a friend and when I was telling him my problem he said that she’d be a really great person to talk to. After many, many hours of diligent work she shrunk the content down into a story that was worthy of a book. My plan the whole time was just to self-publish and keep it simple but one day I got a call from New Society Publishers about writing a book on food waste. I told them I didn’t have time but that I was currently working on a book and I could send it over to them. They said they were interested so I sent them the rough manuscript that Christine was working on. Much to my excitement, just a week later they sent me an offer to publish the book.

I was and am extremely grateful for Christine. Without her work I don’t think that New Society would ever have taken on the book and it never would have become a published book. Without Christine it might not even have ever become a self-published book. She was diligent, dedicated, and extremely timely with her work. My writing was so rough but she managed to pull it together into something that was hard to put down. I’m happy to say that most people who read it found it to be pretty informative and inspirational.

Christine lives in San Diego and she loves working with local, national and international small businesses and individuals who are passionate about sharing great content to benefit others. Her motto is all content must incorporate the 3 Es: Engage, Educate, and Entertain. She is a writer of non-fiction for small businesses and individuals, a collaborative editor, and has an expertise in books, ebooks, website content, and brand launch and expansion. From the former executive who wants to off-ramp into entrepreneurial consulting or the small business that wants to set itself apart from its competition, Christine’s clients benefit from her writing/editing/marketing insights.

She also takes a great interest in the people she works with and even came out dumpster diving in San Diego with me a few times! She volunteers and mentors in the Behavior Center of the San Diego Humane Society and works with stray, feral, shy, fearful kittens and cats so they can easily make the transition to their forever homes.
