Wednesday on the Robert Scott Bell Show: What are American’s doing?
According to a recent study in the Times, most American’s know what food is healthy, and what isn’t. However, what they eat on a daily basis is still largely, (and we do mean LARGEly), governed by marketing. Just because a food is known to be “healthy” doesn’t mean it will make it onto the plate – much of what is consumed by Americans is what they can get quick, cheap, and is right in front of them – whether on TV, or promoted by their favorite celebs on Instagram, eating is a social sport, so seeing what other people eat influences us far more than facts in our head. It takes a lot of discipline to eat well if you haven’t been raised that way – but it’s not impossible!
Unfortunately, the government – which remember, people think is protecting their health and trusting too much – is actually subsidizing all the un-healthy processed foods. So again, we have to think for ourselves – why is the non-organic stuff so cheap? Because those aren’t real prices, the government is subsidizing them, just like with the bank bail outs, rather than letting capitalism take it’s course. If only 2% of the American population farms, yet 100% of the population eats – those 2 farmers should be filthy rich, right? Nope! Because the government is supporting mega-farming corporations like Monsanto instead.
Also, due to the false advertising of the 90’s, many American’s are still avoiding fats in their diet – or eating just the wrong kind. Yet another study shows how good for us that “good fat” is! And, more good news, pasta and butter are back on the “recommended” list! Just make sure, as usual, that you and your friends are buying quality products – not just any old processed butter with fake salt, or over-refined pasta made from GMO grains. Whole grains and natural grains that haven’t been mutated are great for you!

Today’s Moment of Duh – brought to you by Super Don: Our modern lifestyle is apparently more to blame for obesity than genetics! However, the recent study out of San Francisco did conclude that people with a greater genetic risk for obesity did appear to be more affected by modern developments that promote obesity, such as wide availability of cheap, high-calorie food, neighborhood designs that present fewer opportunities to walk, and couch-potato leisure activities. Hmmm, don’t spend too much time contemplating this – let’s just do something about it!

Secrecy is a virtual religion in Washington. Those who violate its dogma have been punished in the harshest and most excessive manner – at least when they possess little political power or influence. As has been widely noted, the Obama administration has prosecuted more leakers under the 1917 Espionage Act than all prior administrations combined. Secrecy in DC is so revered that even the most banal documents are reflexively marked classified, making their disclosure or mishandling a felony. As former CIA and NSA Director Michael Hayden said back in 2000, “Everything’s secret. I mean, I got an email saying ‘Merry Christmas.’ It carried a top secret NSA classification marking.”
People who leak to media outlets for the selfless purpose of informing the public – Daniel Ellsberg, Tom Drake, Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden – face decades in prison. Those who leak for more ignoble and self-serving ends – such as enabling hagiography (Leon Panetta, David Petreaus) or ingratiating oneself to one’s mistress (Petraeus) – face career destruction, though they are usually spared if they are sufficiently Important-in-DC. For low-level, powerless Nobodies-in-DC, even the mere mishandling of classified information – without any intent to leak but merely to, say, work from home – hasresulted in criminal prosecution, career destruction and the permanent loss of security clearance. 
This extreme, unforgiving, unreasonable, excessive posture toward classified information came to an instant halt in Washington today – just in time to save Hillary Clinton’s presidential aspirations. (Glenn Greenwald, The Intercept)
University of North Carolina says complimenting a woman on her shoes, inviting someone to play golf, or referring to someone by their gender, is now an act of ‘microaggression’, and a punishable offence. The school has obviously gone into “political correctness” overload, and rather than teaching their students how to use their words to communicate, and master their own emotions, they have simply banned most words in general. Hopefully, many students will either stand up to this ridiculous new standard, or leave the school in protest. Can we as tax-payers protest funding the school in general?
A former coffee farmer who says Monsanto’s widely used Roundup herbicide caused her cancer scored a win last week when a federal judge rejected the company’s request to dismiss the case. Christine Sheppard was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2003, seven years after she started using Roundup at her coffee farm in Hawaii, Courthouse News reports. Her lawsuit, like one filed by three cancer-stricken farmers in Nebraska, accuses Monsanto of falsely claiming that glyphosate, the herbicide’s active ingredient, was safe.
In a Zika update out of Brazil, one Zika twin has microcephaly; the other doesn’t. But why? Their mother is interviewed, and we weigh in on the speculation. If you’ve been reading any of the articles posted here on the site by our friend Jon Rappaport, then you’ll understand!
The so-called “GMO Labeling Bill” is due for a vote, but it appears to be an absolutely worthless and time-wasting piece of legislation that is only meant to pacify the American public. Even the FDA – another government run organization, has pointed out the many contradictions and loopholes found in the bill. Here is why we need to be concerned – depending on the amount of GMO content the USDA decides will qualify a food for a label, respected food research groups have estimated that 99% of all GMO food could be exempt from labeling. California’s law eliminating all non-medical exemptions to vaccines went into effect on July 1, but there’s still a chance to roll it back. On July 1, ANH-USA and allies filed a lawsuit seeking declaratory and injunctive relief against California’s recently approved law banning personal belief and religious exemptions from childhood vaccination, SB 277. The plaintiffs are Education 4 All, the Weston Price Foundation, Citizens for Health, six parents whose children face exclusion from school, and ANH-USA (suing on behalf of our 73,800 members in California). Hi Robert! Thanks for helping educate us on healthy ways to heal our bodies. I have an urgent question. I have a dear friend who’s 3-year old granddaughter was diagnosed with leukemia on June 27. She is not responding well to chemo and has an infection where they put the port in her chest. They are looking at four more weeks at the children’s hospital. She isn’t doing well. The doctors “think she may have had the leukemia longer than they originally thought.”
I have found that normally my friends are not open to alternative treatments. I believe this friend may be at a point where they would consider anything. I was wondering if the liquid Carnivora would be of any help? Do you have any other suggestions? I appreciate any thoughts.

I battle Metastatic non Radioactive Iodine responsive thyroid cancer and follow a private group. The following is a sad post from the monitor.
Yesterday we lost another RAI resistant thyroid cancer patient. She was our youngest distant met. patient on the TKI meds. She was also here from Arizona…in a downwinder county. My heart is broken for her and her family. 1 death from thyroid cancer is 1 death too many. But thousands die every year all while it’s being passed off as the “Easy” cancer. Metastatic RAI resistant thyroid cancer desperately needs a cure! People NEED to take the effects of nuclear radiation seriously. Docs need to be trained to recognize RAI non-avid thyroid cancer sooner. No mother should ever have to bury their daughter from thyroid cancer and there needs to be better treatments available EVERYWHERE. 20 years old is just too soon. Cassie Sprague my heart is shattered in a million pieces for you right now. I can’t imagine how hard this must be. But you have all of my love and support in the world.
Every thyroid cancer patient deserves a cure!! And even more importantly every thyroid cancer patient in a “Downwinders” area deserves to be covered under the RECA Act. Radioactive Iodine 129 has a half life of 15 million years. Once it’s in the environment, it’s there for good. So to only cover those who were alive when the bombs went off is leaving all of the future generations out in the cold. With no help, no apology, and no acknowledgment to what caused our disease in the first place. NO warnings telling people they’re at risk and to do thyroid cancer screenings. NOTHING. Downwinders have a right to know they’re at risk!!!!!!
2 of the 4 deaths these last 2 weeks that I know of were directly linked to the downwinders area. The third was linked to the Hanford nuclear power plant…which has been a long time leaking nuclear reactor in the pacific northwest. I would LOVE to be wrong about environmental nuclear pollution. I’d love to be some quack conspiracy theorist. But the #1 cause of thyroid cancer is nuclear pollution. Things need to change…and they need to change now.
RIP Kiera. I will never stop seeking justice for people like you.
