Guys offer women tampons to end period shaming and the ladies like it! Not sure how to feel about this? That’s ok. It’s the thought that counts…right? What is interesting here is that usually the media uses words and PC terms just to simply stir up the controversy. As silly as this is, this is an effort to “bind the wound” so-to-speak, and good-naturedly bridge a gap between 2 groups that may have felt there was something uncomfortable between them. Instead of saying, “no, this bothers me, let’s not talk about it,” or waging a petition, they are diffusing the situation by facing it in a positive, non-aggressive way. Bravo. You see friends, whether healing be physical, mental, or emotional…we have the power to bring it ourselves. You don’t have to ask for permission, you can do something to start healing something today.
In other news…what does a study about will-power have to do with climate change science? Well, apparently a lot! This in depth article explains that most scientific studies will “discover” something in their tests and research, publish it, and then the scientific community will cite that study for years and decades in all kinds of context. However, the original study is often not replicated. There are never able to repeat the results…so there is actually very little evidence to support these findings. The article goes on to mention that free-thinking people who may question these studies or findings or ask for additional evidence, are then labled as “anti_science”. Actually, most logical, question-asking people LIKE having science to back up their decisions. They just want it to be honest science. And part of science is supposed to be putting ego aside for the sake of asking the questions, trying and failing and trying again until not YOUR results, but the TRUE results are evident.
