Hi Everyone!
I can't believe it has been an entire year since I last posted on my blog! Going back to school turned out to be quite the time consumer combined with being a mother, having a part time job as a paraprofessional for my school district, and all of the other joys that come with a hectic busy life. The most I have created this past year has mostly been to do lists for school work, house work, and family life. I am happy to announce, however, that in May of this year I graduated from Dixie State University with my Bachelor's degree in English, Emphasis in Education!
The past few months since graduation have been difficult. I graduated with a cohort in the Education department of nearly 30 graduates, nearly all of them looking for a job in the same school district that I was looking to get a job in. To make matters worse, there were 9 of us who were graduating with an English Language Arts degree and only 7 jobs available! Needless to say, I was not one of those 7 who got a job as an English teacher. My closest friends that I graduated with now have jobs, and I'll tell you what, it has been an uphill climb out of depression watching them excel in a world that I have worked so hard to become part of for the past 4 years.
(These are all of the friends that I graduated with. We all graduated in English Education, we are all moms, and every single one of them (except me) are now English teachers! You go girls!!!)
With that being said, I did find a job as a paraprofessional for my school district once again. While I love my job, I still yearn to be an English Language Arts teacher and hope to one day share my creations for my classroom here on RobbyGurl's Creations.
In the mean time, while I anxiously await the day that I get to enter my own classroom, I have been making jewelry! It has become my latest hobby and it is so much fun! I have even started selling the jewelry I have created! I am working furiously in my spare time to create an Etsy store so that people outside of my neighborhood can purchase the jewelry as well. I may even start a YouTube channel and teach others how to make jewelry that is simple yet elegant and easy on the family budget! So stay tuned, I can't wait to share my latest creations with you! In the mean time, here is a sneak peak of what I have created so far...
