Bob Parson picked up PXG.com for $25K in January for his latest venture Parsons Xtreme Golf.
How did I find this out?
I was using the x.co URL shortener by GoDaddy.com and seen the BobParsons.ME link at the top the page and I wondered if Bob still updates his blog @ GoDaddy and the short answer is NO!
Last update was back in 2013, Two years ago, I suppose since his sale of GoDaddy.com the blog is the last thing on his mind, anyway I was looking BobParsons.me and see his Twitter link @DrBobParsons, I thought I would see if he is still active and twitter and there he is posting every few months on Twitter.com
While scanning through the twitter feed, I see Bob had this post.Bob Parsons @DrBobParsons · Jan 8
Hello World! Pls meet my newest company. Parsons Xtreme Golf. http://PXG.com @ParsonsXtreme
Being the domain geek that I am, I looked up PXG.com and see that the domain was under privacy at GoDaddy using Domains By Proxy which is no shocker after all it was his company.
I did a quick check on DNJournal.com and noticed the sale was announced on the 18th of February. http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/domainsales/2015/20150218.htm
It appears that the domain name was parked previously @ DomainNameSales.com, I am not sure if it was brokered by DNS Team or directly with the owner.
The owner appears to have been Abstract Holdings who own domain names such as Retreats.com, Slog.com. Sticky.com, FreeVoip.com, TankTops.com, DubStep.com and many more – https://whoisology.com/organization/archive_7/abstract+holdings+international+ltd
I am sure the owner would have held out for more cash if they had realised that a Billionaire wanted to buy PXG.com instead of selling it for $25,000 USD but to be fair that is the average price looking at Namebio.com for LLL.com recently – http://namebio.com/pxg.com
Bob also was smart enough to pick up ParsonsXtremeGolf.com however he didn’t get the this one which was still available for registration as of posting. ParsonXtremeGolf.com – I wouldn’t recommend buying this as Bob already holds a Trademark on the name.
