Summer is finally here and that means that life is going to get a little crazy!

If you have kids, they are going to be getting out of school for the summer very soon (if they’re not out already.)

And soon, your schedule is going to be full of graduations, family reunions, weddings, backyard barbecues, and weekend getaways.

Finding the time to blog is going to be a little hard! But don’t worry – you can survive the summer, and so can your blog, by using these tips:

1. Write extra posts now, and then post date them throughout the summer. A great way to get them planned out is to use the free Editorial Calendar plugin so you can create a logical blog post release plan.

2. Find guest bloggers. Have them send you their posts, and you can publish (and post date) as necessary. Better yet, find posts YOU like on other bloggers blogs and ask them if you can republish on your blog. This is a form of content curation but you’re going to be hand-picking the posts and you can even just post part of the content, add your own options, and then link on over to the original post. Bonus Idea: If that blogger has an affiliate program you could even use their affiliate link. Most bloggers will happily say YES to this arrangement if you give them proper credit. This helps you avoid having to wait on people who SAY they’re going to write a blog post but then get too busy.

3. Recycle Your Old Posts – Create new posts based on a theme, and link back to your old posts. Or you can recycle old blog posts by making sure they are up to date, adding something new to them and bringing them back up as a most recent post on your blog.

For example, if you have a crafty blog, your theme could be “Best Summer Craft Ideas.” If you have a parenting blog, it could be “Keeping Your Kids Busy This Summer,” or if you have a cooking blog, it could be “5 Easy No-Cook Recipes.”

4. Join a Facebook Group – There are all kinds of marketing groups out on facebook. You might need the extra motivation and if you find the right group with the right people you’ll get ideas, inspiration and motivation to keep on growing your business and still enjoy the summertime.

5. Get the Kids Involved – My son is now 13 years old and pretty interested in ways to earn money. This summer, I’ll be getting him to do some audio and video editing for my sites and also going back through old posts to look for outdated links and pages he can fix up.

6. Join the Marketing Summer Camp – This summer, register for the camp for business owners; Marketing Summer Camp. You’ll get easy to use weekly summer marketing activities, a summer camp facebook group and two live campfire webinars. It will motivate, educate and inspire you to make this summer the most awesome summer for your business ever!
