A winter storm brought snow, sleet, freezing rain, and rain to Southern New England on Wednesday February 5, 2014 into early Thursday, February 6.The storm began 4-5 am on Wednesday with a burst of moderate to heavy snow that quickly coated all roads. The precipitation changed to sleet and freezing rain from south to north during the morning. The mix line never quite made it to the Massachusetts Turnpike, where some of the heaviest snow totals were located. Any mixed precipitation or rain changed back to light snow Wednesday evening before ending shortly after midnight. The following are unofficial snow reports sent into the National Weather Service from spotters.
