* 1. The Simpsons- Our story begins as a young cartoonist named Matt Groening was drawing rabbits for newspapers. These drawings were full of expressions of angst, social alienation, self-loathing, and fear of inevitable doom. The comics were an underground success and they eventually caught the attention of Hollywood producer James L. Brooks. In 1985, Brooks contacted Groening with the proposition of developing a series of short animated skits, for The Tracey Ullman Show. Originally, Brooks had wanted Groening to adapt his Life in Hell characters for the show but, fearing the loss of ownership rights to his characters, Groening instead created an entirely new batch of characters, thus the Simpsons were born. These shorts proved to be very popular, so the family was later spun-off into its own show. Since then, it has become the longest running primetime animated series in history. The show's success has also led it to become an icon, win over 120 awards, join Shakesphere & the Bible as our culture's greatest source of quotes & references, and the catchphrase ''D'oh'' officially being adopted into the English language. The franchise has earned billions of dollars with: several comic book series, a feature length film, multiple video games, an entire themed area at both: Universal Studios Florida & Hollywood, and enough merchandise to circle the globe. The Simpsons also proved that cartoons don't have to necessarily be for kids, paving the way for other long-running animated series like South Park & Family Guy, and influencing beloved modern shows like Rick And Morty & Steven Universe. While it may not be as touching or hilarious as its first 10 or so seasons, the show is still entertaining after all these years and we should still expect it to be for years to come.

* 2. Happy Tree Friends- Don't let the title or appearances of the characters fool you, this is probably the goriest cartoon you'll ever see. The Happy Tree Friends are cute, cuddly creatures whose daily adventures always end up going horribly wrong. You'll laugh along as you watch the characters frolic in the forest, fall in love, fall out of trains, and just generally fall to their deaths. Each episode of this delightfully twisted series features the characters getting mauled, decapitated, blown up, flattened, eviscerated, and pretty much any other death imaginable. The show's so violent, it was banned in Russia (which is pretty ironic, considering how violent THEY are). Since its internet debut in 1999, Happy Tree Friends has become an internet phenomenon and has gained a cult following, thanks to the unthinkably creative ways to murder cartoon animals. Aside from over 2 billion views worldwide, the series has also had: a spinoff, a music video for Fallout Boy's ''The Carpal Tunnel Of Love'', multiple merchandise, a video game, a TV series, and a movie that's reportedly in development, proving that Happy Tree Friends is the mother of all web series. Don't forget the #1 rule of the show: Not recommended for small children, or big babies.

* 3. Futurama- The series follows the adventures of a late-20th-century New York City pizza delivery boy, Phillip J. Fry, who, after being unwittingly cryogenically frozen for one thousand years, finds employment at Planet Express, an interplanetary delivery company in the retro-futuristic 31st century. With this & The Simpsons, it just proves that Matt Groening is a true animation genius. While it may not be as well known as its yellow skinned brother, Futurama has still managed to attract a decent amount of fans, even if FOX sabotaged the show's schedule. Thankfully, starting in 2007, 4 direct-to-DVD movies were released, just a few years after its original cancellation. The popularity of these movies convinced Comedy Central to renew the show in 2010... until THEY cancelled it in 2013. No worries though, it'll come back... hopefully (that's your cue, Netflix). At least there's still new comics rolling out to feed fans' hunger for new content.

* 4. Eddsworld- Eddsworld follows the brave adventures of Edd and his troubling group of friends as they tackle zombies, demons, clones and everyday life. Eddsworld started as little animations based on Edd Gould and his friends on Newgrounds.com, eventually being distributed on YouTube, Albino Blacksheep, DeviantArt, SheezyArt & BBC. Since 2004, 50+ episodes (called ''eddisodes''), over 200 web comic strips, a few flash games & various other artwork were released. Eddsworld was even noticed by the organizers of the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference, who requested the creation of an episode about climate change, which was used in the opening ceremony of the conference. Unfortunately, after Edd's 6-year long battle with leukemia, he passed away on the morning of March 25th, 2012. After his death, his friends made his wish come true and continued the franchise. They eventually set up a fundraiser a few months later to fund new episodes. Though Edd may be gone, his world will keep on spinning.

* 5. Gravity Falls- Twins Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle, Stan Pines, in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Oregon. Stan has the kids help him run The Mystery Shack, the tourist trap that he owns. The twins try to adapt to the weird surroundings but sense there is something strange about Gravity Falls and begin to unlock its secrets. When Dipper uncovers a cryptic journal that offers insight into the town's mysteries, he and Mabel use it and their enthusiastic desire to vanquish evil to battle the imminent mysteries that surround them. Words cannot describe how utterly amazing this series is. Even though the fandom may have its ups-and-downs (mostly downs), that doesn't deny the fact that this series has amazing plots, mysteries, and plenty of humor that goes right past kids' heads. Gravity Falls is probably one of, if not, THE best show of the 2010s.

* 6. Dick Figures- Dick Figures is a supernova wrapped in Bacon. So basically... its awesome. From the mundane to the magical, the world of the series combines off-the-wall action, absurd comedy, movie references, mythical creatures, adorable animals, an eclectic soundtrack, lots of explosions and a cast of colorful characters living out their lives in complete acceptance of the insanity surrounding them. The only certainty the world provides is that you never know what's coming next. Yet, at the adrenaline-powered-blood-pumping heart of it all: the show is just pure fun. With 5 seasons, a spinoff, ads for Jack Link's Beef Jerky & a movie (as well as a sequel reportedly in development), Dick Figures is one of the most successful web series of all time.

* 7. Bob's Burgers- The show centers on the Belcher family—Bob, Linda, and their children Tina, Gene, and Louise—who run a hamburger restaurant on Ocean Avenue. After a rocky series premiere back in 2011, it started to recover fast and has now become one of FOX's best shows of all time. Unlike most sitcoms about families, each member of the Belchers are actually unique in their own way, whether it be Bob's horrible attempts to impress people or Tina's fetish for butts. Bob's Burgers is probably the warmest & funniest show on TV now, basically becoming the Simpsons of the current generation.

* 8. Baman Piderman- Weirding people out since 2009, Baman Piderman is just what you need after a long day at the office, on the computer, or using any part of your brain for any length of time. Seriously. Watching Baman Piderman is like being on nitrous at the dentist's office. Everything's a little fuzzy, and only kind of makes sense. Basically, Baman and Piderman live next door to each other, and they both just like to hang out and roll around on the floor. But it's goofy, absurd, and maddeningly addictive.

* 9. Adventure Time- The series follows the adventures of a boy named Finn and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake—a dog with the magical power to change shape and size at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Throughout the show, they interact with the other main characters: Princess Bubblegum, ruler of the Candy Kingdom; Ice King, a menacing but largely misunderstood ice wizard; and Marceline The Vampire Queen, a thousand-year-old half-demon rock music enthusiast. After being rejected twice by Nickelodeon (big mistake on their part), Cartoon Network eventually picked it up for a series. Since then, it has been Cartoon Network's top-rated series, spawning an upcoming movie, various clothes, comics, video games, DVDs & other merchandise. Although aimed towards kids, the show has attracted many teens & adults due to its humor, animation, stories & deep mythology.

* 10. Bravest Warriors- Set in the year 3085, the series follows four teenage heroes-for-hire as they warp through the universe to save aliens and their worlds. Originally a short on Nicktoons Network, it was later adapted into a series for a slightly older audience for Frederator's Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel. Bravest Warriors is the result of combining the storytelling of Adventure Time (which Pendleton Ward also created) & the humor of Futurama, making this series awesome. The cast of characters are great as well. I mean, come on, name ONE person who doesn't love Catbug.

* 11. Rick And Morty- The series follows the misadventures of alcoholic scientist Rick and his easily influenced grandson Morty, who split their time between domestic family life and interdimensional travel. With its sick, twisted humor, unique animation, weird plots & supposed connection to Gravity Falls, Rick And Morty has went on to become Adult Swim's best & most critically acclaimed series. Even though it may have huge hiatuses in-between its seasons, the waits are definitely worth it. In the meantime, there's comics & multiple games to check out.

* 12. Bee And PuppyCat- Originating from a short from Frederator's Too Cool! Cartoons, the series revolves around Bee, an unemployed woman in her twenties, who encounters a mysterious creature named PuppyCat. She adopts this apparent cat-dog hybrid, and together they go on a series of magical temporary jobs to pay her monthly rent. After a very successful Kickstarter campaign, gaining more than $800,000, it was later made into a series. It has also spawned a comic book that is worth checking out. Fans of Sailor Moon, Steven Universe & Bob's Burgers should definitely give this series a try.

* 13. Steven Universe- Steven Universe is the story of a young boy named Steven, who lives in the town of Beach City with the Crystal Gems: Garnet, Amethyst & Pearl, three magical humanoid aliens. Steven, who is half-Gem, goes on adventures with his friends and helps the Gems protect the world from their own kind. The previews may show it off as an annoying show about some kid screaming about getting powers from eating ice cream but, it's so much more than that. It has amazing animation, music, acting, characterization & worldbuilding. Give it at least, say, 12 episodes and you will probably fall in the love with the series. Just... stay away from the fanbase at all costs...

* 14. Deep Space 69- Imagine if Star Wars had a three-way with South Park & Cyanide And Happiness. Deep Space 69 is an animated sci-fi sex comedy starring Jay, the horniest alpha male in the universe, and his last last-of-species space koala sidekick, Hamilton. Along with Happy Tree Friends & Dick Figures, Deep Space 69 has proven to be one of Mondo's biggest & most successful series. It even reportedly has its own movie in development, which is a pretty big step for a web series with only 30+ episodes.

* 15. Regular Show- The series revolves around the lives of two friends, a blue jay named Mordecai and a raccoon named Rigby—both employed as groundskeepers at a local park. Their attempts to slack off usually lead to surreal, extreme, and supernatural misadventures. During these misadventures, they interact with the show's other main characters: Benson, a gumball machine; Pops, a man with a lollipop for a head; Skips, an immortal Yeti; Muscle Man, an overweight green man; and Hi-Five Ghost. With eight seasons and a movie, Regular Show has become one of Cartoon Network's biggest and best series of all time. And who can blame them, what with the Adult Swim vibe older viewers feel.

* 16. Don't Hug Me I'm Scared- Each episode is made to appear like a typical children's show, featuring singing and talking puppets, similar to Sesame Street, but eventually takes a dark turn, usually involving gore. With six episodes taking on the subjects of: creativity, time, love, technology, nutrition & dreams, Don't Hug Me I'm Scared has turned out to be one of the most talked-about web series of all time, mostly due to the deep meanings each episode has, and trying to figure out what they mean.

* 17. Family Guy- To lots of people, its probably one of the stupidest shows they've seen, but if they look past the fart jokes & cutaway gags, they might actually find it to be a decent, funny show. Since being brought back from the dead (twice), a soundtrack, multiple books, 2 video games, a pinball machine, a Simpsons crossover, a series of Star Wars parodies, and even a spinoff have been made, possibly making the Griffins one of the best cartoon/TV families of the 2000's.

* 18. Too Cool! Cartoons- This series of shorts had its fair share of great ones (like Our New Electrical Morals & Dead End), while also having its fair share of not-so-great, but still pretty enjoyable ones (like Ace Discovery & SpaceBear). Most of these shorts were made to possibly be optioned as shows, with Bee And PuppyCat & the upcoming Rocket Dog only being made into series. Which sorta sucks, since ALL of these shorts had potential for turning into actual shows. One can still hope though (I would kill for a series based on Manly).

* 19. Robot Chicken- This stop-motion sketch comedy will rape the childhood of anyone from the 70s', all the way through today. Whether you want to see Optimus Prime get checked for prostate cancer or see the Wonder Pets send a baby cow to a slaughterhouse then sing a song about eating its flesh, there's always something disturbing yet, hilarious to come from every 11 minute episode.

* 20. Asdfmovie- Asdfmovie is the definition of random. As you watch this series, you'll see many weird things like: Moon Bears, talking Hamburgers, Cows on skateboards, suicidal Muffins & many more. With its simple animation and short videos, you'll quickly learn to love having this series around for whenever you're bored and/or need a laugh.
