The Server Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Server Operating System and service related applications in support of business processing requirements. The Server Engineer provides the expertise necessary to install, configure and maintain the Server Operating System for the Company. Work Performed: Responsible for the provisioning, installation, oversight, administration and daily maintenance of all servers to include; Intranet/Internet web servers, Database servers, monitoring servers, proprietary application servers, file and print servers etc. and others to maximize availability. This person performs software installations, system maintenance, performance and capacity analysis and improvement integration for systems. Performs security patch and version upgrades on servers in accordance with corporate guidelines; and monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. This person develops and promotes standard operating procedures; conducts routine system audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. This person troubleshoots technical system issues; and provides status reports, problem summaries, and project status to supervisor as required. This person conducts timely and effective root cause analysis, problem management and issue resolution for server issues. Provides first tier response, analysis and resolution planning for detected issues and seeks appropriate resolution of issues. Generates enthusiasm among team members. Proactively seeks opportunities to serve in leadership roles. Challenges others to develop as leaders while serving as a role model. Manages the process of innovative change. Plays a key role in system up time and disaster recovery initiatives. Facilitates effective team interaction. Acknowledges and appreciates each team member's contributions. Addresses issues related to. Disaster Recovery / High Availability Physical and Logical Security Backup / Integrity and recoverability and testing Patch and security configuration compliance (includes virus detection for server and client) General user administration Active Directory maintenance Administration of Microsoft Exchange server Strong knowledge of VMWare. Experience with Batch billing program UC4. Experience with Linux OS. Performs first level issue triage and manages the escalation process. Resolves user configuration / authentication issues. Escalates calls to vendors whenever required. Analyzes reports & recommends changes to process/technology where ever required. Pro-actively provides suggestions for the optimization of the Infrastructure.

Good creative thinking and problem solving skills for designing, developing, and testing distributed computing systems. Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred.
