A hands-on technical and general accounting, maintain integrity of financial reporting systems, provide analytical support regarding financial statements and general ledger. Responsible for accuracy on inventory related transactions affecting the business from the accounting perspective. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Identifies and reviews, in conjunction with the Materials Department and Cost Accounting Manager. Any costs inconsistencies or unusual fluctuations and determine the root cause of variance. Assists with Creation and Posting of monthly journal entries as requested for all inventory related processes (direct shipments, WAD adjustments, buyout specials, international freight, material in transit). Assists with Preparation and Posting of Capitalize PPV-Overhead and lease on a quarterly basis. Verify the level of obsolete inventory on a monthly basis. Maintain integrity of inventory by monitoring and researching on a weekly basis by reducing the negative values on inventory Create performance indicators to measure the results related to negative values on inventory, cycle count status and any other performance indicator that may help to improve the accuracy level on inventory. Audit the cycle count process on a weekly basis, assuring the full cycle is implemented and it is based on the ABC approach, teamwork and constant feedback is required with people responsible to do the cycle counts. Assists with updating the material margin on a monthly basis. Identify opportunities for improvement on all the supply chain, eliminating the non value added activities as much as possible. Uphold accounting principles, practices and procedures. Provide support on the preparation of the forecasting and budgeting processes. Enhance customer service through the implementation of reporting and processing improvements and build relationships with Branch Managers and Accountants. Conduct & report results of all special projects assigned by Controller and/or self-initiative on a timely basis along with proper conclusions and recommendations. In-depth knowledge of BOM (Build of Materials) Review miscellaneous adjustments daily for unusual and/or large adjustments and determine appropriateness of entry. Coordinate with sales department the physical inventory counts of inventory held at customer locations. Job Specifications: Skills Strong experience on root cause analysis. Strong Microsoft Excel experience required. Analytical ability to identify issues and impact the results. Education Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business or Equivalent Experience in any aspect of general accounting role. Work Experience One - two years of cost accounting experience required in a manufacturing environment Physical Requirements Ability to sit at a desk for long periods of time High stress tolerance with a highly developed sense of urgency Ability to travel as needed
