The Marketing Department seeks a skilled graphic designer to develop and execute design and high quality layout solutions using a high level of proficiency and artistry for the publications and promotional materials of multiple business lines, including but not limited to membership, travel, automotive, car care, insurance, financial services, sports marketing and bimonthly publication, Journeys magazine. Marketing materials are designed for both internal and external audiences. A minimum of three years of experience working in the graphic design field is required. Prepress skills a must. As the companys ONLY graphic designer, reliability and dependability are paramount, as is the ability to meet all deadlines. Designs and develops high quality pages/layouts/ads etc., for business lines and Journeys. Adhere to company standards in producing marketing materials, including the proper use of all logos and trademarks and use of appropriate style, design and layout procedures. Enforce Brand Story Style Guide to ensure uniform and consistent look throughout all marketing pieces; Advise business lines on Brand Story Style Guide execution, including: headline development, image selection, style execution, etc. Manage multiple business line projects simultaneously and check proofs for copy and design accuracy. Advise other department staff in prepress design work in order to achieve uniformity in style, design and layout of marketing materials. Adhere to approval policies and procedures. Meet stated deadlines. Enforce Marketing Department proofing policies for quality assurance. Maintain project records and art files of all finished work. Provide opportunities for business line art concept meetings for various design projects. Perform as a team member and show exceptional levels of customer service to both internal and external clients. Maintain image and logo library; Collect images, logos and design elements from business partners to maintain current library. Coordinate with outside vendors, including printing and pre-press production, to provide direction where needed. Must have a strong attention to technical detail and work independently. Must meet deadlines on a daily basis. Occasional overtime required. Ability to remain calm during peak periods of activity. Ability to effectively and courteously interact with department personnel, management, as well as internal and external clients. Comply with outside partners guidelines and specifications. Occasionally create PowerPoint templates for business line needs. Work with in-house printer on project set-ups. *Requirements:* B.A. in Graphic Design and a minimum of three years professional design experience. Advanced knowledge of industry standard graphic programs and prepress industry. Must work in a Mac OSX operating system platform and familiarity with PC-based design software for cross-platform applications. Proficiency and advanced training in the use of print media desktop publishing software including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), font management software, CD burning and archiving software, computer system maintenance software, file compression software, preflight/prepress software and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Quark XPress a plus, but not required. Experience in typography, ad layout and creation, print media specifications, digital image adjustment and photo correction, scanning for high-quality output, creation of Web-ready graphics, CMYK and spot/Pantone color processes and preflight digital file preparation. Possess a creative background and a detailed eye for quality design. Strong verbal and written communication skills expected. Occasionally design Web ads, landing pages, emails. Digital photography skills required. HTML experience a plus. Knowledge of Associated Press style a plus.
