Role: Medicaid Revenue Cycle
Responsibilities:
-Initiates monthly eligibility checks via Georgia Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS)
-Ensuring active client status
-Supporting field clinicians in rendering reimbursable services
-Maintains database integrity, updating client files, esuring accurate demographic data and billing information
-Ensures timely billing of Fee-for-Service claims in accordance with the State of Georgia Medicaid guidelines
-Ability to communicate client clinical information; medical necessity; and treatment plan to Georgia Medicaid representatives for purposes of obtaining authorization for behavioral health care services
-Analyzes the status of pending Medicaid accounts to determine the best course of action to obtain authorization and subsequent reimbursement for client services.
-Prioritizes work for optimal reimbursement to avoid financial risk to both practice and client
-Understands role within the revenue cycle and provides ideas and/or suggestions to the Revenue Cycle Manager, regarding ways to improve accuracy and efficiency within the Georgia Medicaid revenue cycle.
Qualifications:
-Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
-A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years experience in a managed care or behavioral healthcare setting.
-Knowledge and understanding of the State of Georgia Medicaid guidelines, as it relates to billing and coordination of services, as well as the ability to articulate this understanding to others.
-Advanced knowledge of medical terminology; CPT codes; and ICD 9/10 codes.
-Must have proficient computer skills Microsoft: Excel; Outlook and Word
-Must have experience with electronic health records (EHR)
-Must have good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate with various levels of personnel
-Ability to evaluate and analytically solve problems
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Possess the ability to work within a varied degree of ambiguity
