Company in Chapel Hill is seeking a staff accountant on a temporary to full-time basis!
Responsibilities include:
Performs daily, monthly and quarterly reconciliation procedures and reporting for clients; reconciles, analyzes and interprets data from different data aggregation sources and standard account reports; identifies root cause data issues and supports management in determining appropriate solutions.
Performs daily, weekly and monthly accounting procedures including journal entries, account reconciliations, transaction review, and standard closing procedures.
Assists with client reporting dissemination of accounting and investment information to clients and other related parties; partners with Operations team to ensure timely delivery of complete and accurate information.
Identifies reporting needs, enhancements and efficiencies; assists team in related prioritization efforts.
Works closely with clients to ensure accounting, investment and corporate information is accurate and current.
Assists with data analytics and review; reports results and findings to management.
Supports the investment officers in obtaining, aggregating, reviewing and reconciling data for quarterly client reporting needs.
Partners with managers to identify and document relative controls, business processes and detailed project plans.
Participates in the testing and implementation of software enhancements and features.
Develops and maintains strong, constructive relationships with clients and other internal business partners.
Assists with audit inquiries and fulfills requests for data.
Perform various ad-hoc reporting on an as needed basis.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Operations or equivalent business experience required
Sound accounting knowledge is required
CPA license or candidate preferred
2-3 years of accounting (preferred), operations, and / or finance experience required
Experience in data aggregation and data reconciliation is strongly preferred

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, OBI, Word, and Access
