Our client located in Annapolis, MD is in search of a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the following: Responsible for processing of weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payroll data for US, Canada and Puerto Rican employees via PeopleSoft and ADP. Responsible for accurate execution of all processing items on departmental processing task list (as assigned to specialists for processing). Responsible for entering tax and direct deposit changes into PeopleSoft payroll system on a weekly basis. Responsible for maintaining ADP data base employee payroll information on a daily basis. Accurate processing of employee payments for New Hire, Termination and Job Data Changes (retro wage payments or overage receipts) received from HRSC. Responsible for timely responses to all operational inquiries received by payroll department mail box. Responsible for processing of garnishments payments and responses to third parties timely and accurately. Responsible to accurate administration of all import and export files as they relate to Payroll Operations. Ability to research compliance items for responses to employees as needed. Filing of all payroll related reports timely. Assists with all department audits on a periodic basis (Internal Audit and SOX). Act as liaison to Human Resources, internal information systems personnel and all other interested parties in support of payroll processing. Provide special project support as needed. Any candidates for the Payroll Specialist position must possess the following requirements: Associates or Bachelors degree in related field preferred (Business, Taxation, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, etc.). American Payroll Association CPP or FPC certification highly desirable. PeopleSoft payroll processing module experience. ADP Payroll and Tax experience highly desirable. Experience with multi-state payrolls (mobile workforce). Experience working with regulatory agencies on payroll related inquires. Customer service focused to ensure both internal and external clients receive responsive and effective service. Experienced user of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong communication skills both verbal and written. The ability to multi-task and willingness to learn new skills. Team oriented person who can focus on details. The ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organization. Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines.
