Microsoft Cloud DB Engineer The Cloud Database Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of the required databases supporting the SaaS Cloud environment. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the SaaS department. This individual ensures that the business processes, general computing controls, and regulatory processes are documented and observed. Incumbent has overall responsibility for the successful design, implementation, and management of the database environment including assuring database: security, availability, recoverability, and optimum performance. Position works under general direction to plan, develop, and implement functions and/or projects. Mail you resume to Jason.Patino@RHT.com DB Engineers will need experience architecting and administrating RDBMS environments, including applying object permissions, database growth optimization techniques, business continuity/disaster recovery planning & testing, performance analysis and tuning, data access & integrity security protections, database high-availability, and patch/update management. Duties: Database Design, Implementation, and Planning - Articulate and communicate a data architecture and integration vision, understand the technologies in the marketplace and provide a strategic perspective to staff and executive management. - Responsible for database planning including logical and physical database design. Analysis of data architecture requirements, architecture design and oversight of implementation. - Work with business domain experts to develop data storage strategies and requirements. - Determines and provides for appropriate data storage strategies and requirements. - Anticipate needs, plan for future database enhancements/upgrades in response to industry trends and user needs. - Continually research, analyze, and evaluate trends in database technology. - Advises senior management to help set strategic and tactical vision for information resource management. - Architecting BI/analytics tool(s) integration. - Responsible for data migration, conversion, and archiving strategies. Database Administration/Management - Creates and implements database backup policy and procedures. Restores database, files, or records as required. - Provides training, technical services, advice and guidance to programming staff and end-user community in database use and access. - Proactively monitor and report on database growth and other database health metrics. - Provide for and participate in cross-training to ensure that database services continue to function properly in the absence of any staff member. - Report to senior management on database issues, prepare oral and written reports of monitoring or database functions. - Researches, evaluates, and specifies database computing hardware and software. - Ensure data integrity and data consistency. - Performs capacity monitoring and short and long term capacity planning. - Ensure that databases are properly backed up and recovery procedures established and adhered to in a mission critical environment. - Actively participates in the implementation of disaster recovery and fail-over capabilities; maintains detailed technical support documentation. Database Security - Development and engineering support for database access control and database security implementations. - Responsible for security administration, including setting and enforcing policy and procedure for data access. - Scripting, coding, and task automation for database security and access management. - Monitor security controls and maintain associated documentation to ensure adherence to Audit standards.
