Robert Half Technology is seeking a Jr. Systems Engineer in St. Augustine, FL. The Sr. Systems Engineer will evaluate, design, deploy, administrator, and support the company's IT systems, services, and software. The will be responsible for all virtual servers, server-side software, and infrastructure equipment. Duties include: infrastructure planning, system monitoring, contingency planning, security, performance tuning, software distribution, mainframe connectivity, Internet connectivity, and production support. Additionally, the right candidate will work under minimal guidance in accordance with policies, standards and specifications set by management, as well as assist management in creating appropriate standards and procedures for infrastructure compliance. *Requirements:* -3 to 5 years IT operation with strong understanding of IT infrastructure, theories, principles, and practices -Expert knowledge in designing, administering, and troubleshooting Windows Operating Systems (2008 and 2012) including AD, file server permissions, group objects, printer management and event log troubleshooting. -Monitor performance and resource utilization of physical servers, virtual servers, SANs, etc. Identify resource and performance issues; make and implement recommendations to resolve those issues -Perform basic System Administration functions for Windows Servers. These tasks include hardware installation, OS installation, OS configuration, Driver updates, Firmware updates, and Windows Updates/Patch installation -Perform installation, configuration, and administration functions for various Enterprise Applications including Active Directory, Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SharePoint Server, MSTerminal Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and VMware ESX -Install and configure VMware ESX servers. Manage the VMware environment including creating VMs, managing VMs, and installing ESX patches -Familiarity with Cisco networking and design concepts. -PowerShell Experience is highly preferred -Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail -Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment -Set up computer equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software. -Conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support. -Trouble shoot and resolve systems related issues in real time to minimize operational down time. -Train users in the proper use of hardware and software. -Prepare evaluations of software or hardware, and recommend improvements or upgrades. -Configure, support and maintain wireless and scanner equipment. -Assist Network Administrators with configuring, maintaining, monitoring, and backing up of local servers and appliances -Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills in order to exceed customers expectations and to minimize escalations by taking ownership of customer reported issues.
