The Web Developer acts as the technical resource for all web-based application issues and integration. The web developer must be a motivated and developer who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions to a varying number of challenges, is detail-oriented, and takes extreme pride in their work. This position involves leading the archdiocesan web development throughout the entire project life cycle. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment that connects people to technology resources to deepen their faith and the ministry of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Responsibilities and Duties: Project Leadership Lead web projects using a systems development life cycle approach Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication Assist in gathering requirements and project specifications Communicate project status and deliverables with managers and clients Provide project team leadership and mentor other IT team members and other organization stakeholders Develop, Design & Maintain Review and modify web systems by designing, maintaining, documenting, testing, developing and monitoring to ensure strong optimization and functionality Code web pages utilizing Cold Fusion, CSS3, jQuery, HTML5 and XHTML and programming languages including JavaScript, SQL and PHP and combinations of languages. Work with various database systems including ASP and VB Script, and SQL Server and frameworks including ADO and ODBC Placement and layout of web site pages given client provided content Design, program and maintain web based applications including forms, pages, and portals used in internal and public-facing web pages Develop and maintain relationships and interface with key contractors on the implementation of advanced web-based tools for the organization Develop and maintain appropriate documentation such as user guides, training material, style guides, and web standards Work closely with customers to define and document design and functional requirements based on customer needs and objectives Work on projects including responsive design, mobile applications, website enhancements, web-based applications, and database-backed websites Maintain and improve the relevance of material on the Archdiocesan websites through the identification of content and the education of new and existing content contributors Maintain the Archdiocesan web sites, providing site management and oversight Manage and administer the Archdiocesan content management, online ordering, online donations, online registration and site analytics Assist external locations (Parishes, Schools and Agencies) with establishing and improving their web presence. Educate leaders and contributors on proper use of common web technologies.
