WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Republican Governors Association today launched the next video of the American Comeback project, a national advertising effort designed to tell the success stories and accomplishments of Republican governors.

Featured in the newest video of the American Comeback project is Alabama Governor Robert Bentley. Governor Bentley has stayed true to the conservative principles his state values, bringing Alabama back from a period of downturn and solidifying its position as a place where businesses and families can grow and thrive.

“When I came into office, we had nothing. All the stimulus dollars were gone. All the money in our rainy day funds had been borrowed out. We basically were broke as a state,” said Governor Bentley. “We chose not to raise taxes. We chose to make the government more efficient, and by doing that, we have saved a billion dollars annually for the people of our state.”

“Companies come to our state because of the environment that we’ve created,” Governor Bentley continued. “If you look at the states that are doing the best, you look at Republican states. That’s why companies leave states like New York, and they come to Alabama.”

“The answers are obviously not coming from Washington,” said Governor Bentley. “The answers to help the people are coming from the states.”

The American Comeback project will grow to include more videos focused on individual Republican governors, their personal journeys and the progress they’ve made toward bringing prosperity to their states.
