BETTSVILLE — Josh Mathias finished sixth in 17:48.12 to lead Elmwood’s boys to the team championship in the Doug Nieset Division of Lakota’s Myron Cline Invitational Saturday at H.P. Eells Park.
The Royals won the title by a 72-85 margin over Hopewell-Loudon, which had the individual winner in Chet Swartzmiller (16:56.48).
Leah Reinhart’s seventh-place showing in 20:36.36 led Hopewell-Loudon to third place in the Rachel Muñoz Division. Mohawk won the team title with 80 points, while Woodmore finished with 85 and the Chieftains had 90. Ottawa Hills’ Abby Hauck won race in 19:46.
Brandon Avers won the Joe McKown Division race in 15:53.42 to lead Otsego to the team title by a 34-96 margin over Liberty-Benton. Fostoria High School, led by Austin Struble in 36th place (18:31.81), was ninth among 11 teams with 243 points.
Bellevue beat Fremont Ross 39-57 for the Julie Harrison Division title. Fostoria, led by Adrianna Eufracio in 41st place (23:07.46), was 10th among 11 teams with 287 points. Liberty-Benton’s Meghan Bartel won the race in 19:17.96.

GALION — Nick DeHaven finished 12th in 16;57.1 to lead St. Wendelin’s boys to 10th place in the Division III team competition of Saturday’s Galion Cross Country Festival at Amann’s Reservoir.
Colonel Crawford, the state’s seventh-ranked team, led the field with 58 points, followed by eighth-ranked Liberty Center with 77. St. Wendelin had 292 points.
Individual champion Brittany Atkinson (17;49.9) led Liberty Center to the Division III girls team championship by a 49-70 margin over Mount Gilead. St. Wendelin, paced by 37th-place Victoria Volpe (22:00.9) was ninth with 253 points.
