According to Raleigh, the Militis frame is made “utilizing T800-grade High Modulus carbon with high tensile strength, never-twisted fiber we reduced the amount of material needed in key areas, combined with a Max Internal Compression process the result is an ultra-thin, stiff, and internally smooth tube surface. Using these combined techniques, we were able to substantially reduce the weight, resulting in a 880g frame that sacrifices nothing & maximizes everything.”

Reigning world cyclocross champion Sven Nys made an appearance at saddle sponsor Prologo’s Interbike booth this afternoon to sign autographs and pose for photos. The speedy Belgian added the Cross Vegas title to his resume taking the victory in last night’s annual Interbike related cross race at the Desert Breeze Sports Complex in Las Vegas.

Garmin-Sharp pro Tom Danielson is holding court in the Smith Optics booth today. Besides racing for at least two more years, the American is just about to launch a new high end cycling camp business. He recently bought a large ranch property in Tucson, Arizona, and starting in October will be offering a pro level training experience, complete with coaching, mechanical support, and a professional chef.

Casper from Whispbar shows us their flush bar roof rack system. The Whispbar is the only wind tunnel tested and designed cross bar system that is aerodynamic and quiet. Whispbar also pays a lot of attention to the style and design of their rack systems. Whispbar claims that the Flush Bar has an “aerodynamic profile that leads the way in noise reduction by reducing drag up to 70%.”

New from Ritchey, the WCS Zeta II Clincher. MSRP $950. It’s been redesigned to be lighter, wider and more laterally stiff, yet still tough enough to endure gravel road rides and even a cyclocross race or two. Internal width is 17mm. and they are tubeless compatible.

New from Light and Motion is the Urban 700 commuter light. It has a certified lumen rating of 700 lumens. Run times are High – 1:30 hours, Mid – 3:00 hours, Low – 6:00 hours, Flash 18:00 hours. Weight is 1200 grams and has a handlebar mount and helmet mount. The Urban 700 comes in bronze or titanium colors.
