Three Men and a Little Lady from Atlas Packaging packaged up a dream team for a challenge that raised £2177 for the North Devon Hospice earlier this month.

The Team, named after the Hollywood Blockbuster starring Tom Selleck, comprised four employees from the Barnstaple-based packaging firm including Jason Sharman (Managing Director), Dave King (Design Manager), James Pearce (Regional Account Manager) and Laura Furnifer (Structural Designer).  The formidable foursome joined teams from all over the country to participate in the Samworth Challenge – a gruelling cycling, hiking and canoeing triathlon which took place in Loch Lomond in Scotland and raised £327,000 in total for charitable causes.

Jason Sharman, Managing Director of the business, commented on the performance of the team:  ‘Laura, like the Little Lady in the film, led us all with confidence through the challenge with her skills and expertise and by the end of it, had us all eating out of the palm of her hand.  She was definitely the leader of the pack!’

Jason is wholly committed to fitness and works out at the gym as often as he can before getting to the office. ‘A good work out clears the head and sets you up for the day.’  He said. ‘We try and encourage our staff to participate in these types of challenges as a fit employee makes a motivated, positive and successful employee.’

Ali Hunt, Head of Fundraising from the North Devon Hospice was invited to Atlas Packaging earlier last week to celebrate (26th June) with the winning team and accept the cheque.  She is delighted with the amount raised and commented: ‘This is a really significant contribution to our targets and we are hugely grateful to the team who put in such a fantastic effort to raise this considerable sum of money.’
