At the launch of the new MacBook Pro, Apple spent the majority of the presentation on their new Touch Bar. Users quickly started discovering the perks of this new tool, with one developer even managing to get Doom running on it! At the same time, others probably discovered some less honest things to do with their Touch Bar, like using it to cheat on an exam.

Which is why the North Carolina Board of Law Examiners, by way of precaution, put out a notice for all applicants who will be using their laptop at the state’s February 2017 Bar Examination. Students who are planning to use the newest version of the Mac Book Pro with Touch Bar, will be be required to disable it—they even provide a how-to. At the start of the exam session, anyone with the newest MacBook will be asked to raise their hand, so that someone can come to their seat and ensure that the Touch Bar has been disabled.

Other Boards quickly followed the North Carolinian example. The New York State Board of Law Examiners, for example, even completely prohibited the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Same thing for California, according to Apple Insider, where applicants will not be allowed to bring their new toy because it “contains certain embedded features that makes it problematic for use” during test administration.
