Adobe has been pushing the mobile space hard for the past two years, and this trend doesn’t appear to be slowing down. Today at Adobe MAX, their massive creativity conference in Los Angeles, the software giant made a series of announcements that focus on touch, mobile and connectivity.

Two New Apps: Fix & Capture

Adobe has announced two new apps that are available today to all CC members. First is Fix, a quick retouching app that brings specific functions from Photoshop that professional retouchers use all the time over to iPhone and iPad. Expect to find features like healing brush, clone stamp and liquify in Fix, designed to work with your finger tip.

The app is designed specifically for photos, separating it from the other Photoshop-named apps like Mix and Sketch. Fix lets you edit and adjust photos using tools like color, paint, adjust and defocus. The app are linked via Libraries, meaning you can send anything you start on your phone to your desktop and finish it in the full-fledged Photoshop application.

In addition to Fix, Adobe also announced Capture CC, an app that combines and consolodates Brush, Shape, Color and Hue into one app. This cleans up the stack of apps that were very specialized into one app that handles them all in a more simplified workflow. They are also shipping a handful of updates across the board to Photoshop Mix, Photoshop Sketch, Illustrator Draw, Comp CC and Premiere Clip.

Updates to Flagship CC Apps

Adobe has announced updates across the CC desktop apps, but we’ll focus on the photo and video updates.

For video, Adobe is finally supporting UltraHD video editing via comprehensive native format support for 4K-to-8k footage. They are also giving color fidelity some love, with support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) workflows in Premiere Pro CC and improved color fidelity and adjustments in After Effects. Remix, a powerful new audio feature, has been added to Audition CC. New Touch capabilities are introduced, with Premiere Pro CC, After Effects CC and Character Animator optimized for Surface Pro, Windows tablets or Apple track pad devices.

Adobe Stock Adds Video Support, New Purchase Options

As expected, Adobe has announced that it will “soon” add video support to its new fledgling stock program. Adobe Stock has also added the ability to search for and browse assets directly from Creative Cloud Libraries, including new support for accessing stock within Muse CC, Dreamweaver CC and Flash Professional CC.

Adobe Announces “Portfolio”

Also announced today was Adobe Portfolio, a new way to create portfolio websites. Available soon, Portfolio comes free with any Adobe Creative Cloud plan, delivering elegant layouts ideal for any creative field, from photography to fashion. You can customize your Portfolio sites, which support responsive web design to ensure content looks stunning across all screen sizes. Portfolio sites can include a personalized URL, password-protection and high-impact Typekit fonts. Portfolio is built on Behance, the world’s largest and most vibrant creative community, with over 5.6 million members. Users can sync Adobe Portfolio to their Behance Projects pages, ensuring even more opportunities to get their work discovered.

Adobe Updates Creative Cloud Photography Plan

Adobe today unveiled feature updates to its popular Creative Cloud Photography plan that delivers the world’s best imaging software across mobile and desktop, for $9.99 per month. New and updated touch interfaces and enhanced features in Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC pioneer a fresh way for photographers to interact with their images. As well as introducing Photoshop Fix, Adobe also updated Lightroom mobile with new capture capabilities and Dehaze functionality; added more layer support for Photoshop Mix; and introduced powerful new editing capabilities for Lightroom for web. Adobe Portfolio will also be added to Creative Cloud Photography plan.

Adobe has been known to give us a lot of information on cool stuff the days before MAX, and withhold a few tidbits of interesting information we won’t hear about until the keynote later today. We’ll keep you updated on anything new as soon as it is announced.
