Customers of The Australian Pub & BBQ on Sukhumvit Soi 11 in Bangkok can enjoy high-speed free WiFi, accessed via their social media accounts, thanks to Purple WiFi and Representasia.

Since December 2014, the Pub has used Purple WiFi’s cloud-based application from Representasia, which enables the venue to access a rich source of data about the visitors that opt in to use its free WiFi. Helpful insights about their age, gender, hometown and interests enable them to build accurate customer profiles. This makes it easier to create more effective, tailored marketing campaigns.

With instant WiFi access provided as guests log in via their social media accounts, the impact on customers’ social media engagement with the venue has been significant, with increasing engagement (likes, shares, comments, conversations).

Results since installation

Over 8,500 visitor email addresses collected for use in email marketing, 72% male, 28% female, 43% logging in via Social Media, and 57% via a short form. Over the same period, revenues have improved by 11.2%.
