The law school at University of California Davis has no plans to cut enrollment or lay off staff, Dean Kevin Johnson said Wednesday.

His remarks respond to questions this week after news reports that University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law is doing both.

The entering class for the fall of 2013 is smaller than usual, however. Applications were down 25 to 30 percent, to about 2,500 Johnson said. Admissions standards remain high, so 150 students were admitted, down from a norm between 180…
