9News Parade of Lights The 39th annual parade follows a two-mile route through downtown and features marching bands, floats, and special appearances by Major Waddles the Penguin and Santa. If you want to watch the parade like a VIP, consider the grandstand seating in front of the City & County Building. There are a limited number of grandstand seats available, though, so buy your tickets here ASAP.
Holiday Mancraft 2013 Its organizers describe it as “pretty much the love child of Martha Stewart and Chuck Norris. With the added bonus of cheap drinks.” Basically it’s a one-stop holiday shop for a variety of handcrafted goods —from letterpress and screen prints to furniture and glassware— made by male vendors. However, the fair is open to men and women. We advise getting there early; the first 50 people through the door get a “man sack” filled with goodies, including a drink ticket and an official ManCraft koozie.

America’s Got Talent Auditions The search for the stars of next summer’s show has begun. Can’t carry a tune? Have two left feet? No problem. All talent is welcome. The catch: only 90 seconds to show ‘em what you got! Register online to audition or just head down to the Colorado Convention Center. And be sure not to forget a photo ID and paperwork!
1940s White Christmas Ball This 4th annual event will be held at Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Enjoy a night of dancing amidst World War II-era planes and vehicles, sleighs, Christmas trees and a canopy of lights. Re-enactments of scenes from the timeless movie “White Christmas” are also part of the festivities. Get your tickets now, as this dance party consistently sells out!

Beatles/John Lennon Memorial Sing-Along Originally conceived as an event to celebrate the life of Beatle John Lennon (who was shot and killed on December 8, 1980), this free, all ages sing-along goes from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mercury Cafe. The song that closes the event is, appropriately, Lennon’s modern day classic “Happy Xmas (War Is Over).” Lyric sheets are provided.
